great for a big male cat!
I was slightly hesitant after reading the negative reviews. The plastic is fine, not flimsy. It is easy to open and clean. It is big and my huge cat loves it! The best part is that all the pee stays inside! I tried different boxes with this cat, he manages to do his business the way that the pee ends up everywhere, including the roof of the box. It is still the case, but now it stays contained inside the box and does not leak out. I am incredibly happy.
Dimensions all wrong on Chewy!
We were really looking forward to replacing our old Booda Dome with this alleged 16" litter box. I should have paid closer attention to the diagram of measurements. While the BOTTOM of the unit is 16.87" or thereabouts, the TOP is 19.5" - and even the sticker on the front of the box proclaims it to be a 19" box! That size difference means that this does NOT fit well in place of the Booda Dome, which has a 17" footprint. We'll deal with it, but I am disappointed in the Chewy merchandisers for getting this wrong in the product title.
I wanted to like this, but
I love the concept of this litter box but unfortunately I had to return it. The opening is WAY too large and my cat easily can kick litter out. My second gripe was that there's no inside liner, that would make clean up a breeze to lift out and dump. I personally use litter bags and I would have like an inside litter box be inside or at least fit the existing one, which it doesn't.
Great litter box!
I bought this because my previous litter box was top entry. Because it has to be kept in my living room, I was looking for a litter box that could keep the smell much more contained and also look nice. This totally fits the bill! Glad I bought it
Pretty & spacious
My cat was being a booger and continued to poop on the carpet on my main level, despite a litter box being In the basement and the upper level. I wanted something that was more inconspicuous to be out in the open on the main level and when I saw this, it was a no brainer. The top plant part looks cute. You could replace that part with a real plant if you want, it’s doable with a bit of creative thinking.
Unique
My cat liked it before I even put the litter in it. It's a nice way to somewhat disguise the litter box. At least it is better looking and less of an eyesore than a regular one. I'd probably get this in another color, maybe dark brown. Overall, it's modern, unique and functional. Don't have to be embarrassed about having your litter box out. It's a bit awkward to clean though because it's basically just a large tub with a door on the front.
I never would have guessed!
This is the cutest litter box I’ve ever seen in my life if you didn’t know any better, you would just think it’s a regular planner the plant on the top of the litter box that comes with the head and litter box pot looked amazingly real. We added some clear round rocks around the plant and you can’t even tell it’s a litter box. Definitely an awesome item especially if you have to put your litter box somewhere that people can see it
Not great but functional
I thought I would be more excited about this when it actually arrived but I wasn't. The quality to me was flimsy and cheap. Doesn't look realistic enough to fit in with my upscale décor. However my husband really liked it and the cat immediately was drawn to it which I guess is a big plus. Doesn't come with all of the materials that you'll need for the inside. But if you're not as focused on aesthetics as I was you will appreciate how easy it easy to put together and take apart.
This hidden cat litter box under a plant is great!
Absolutely love this cat litter box and so does my cat! What a great idea if you didn't know the doorway was there for the cat you would just think it's a nice looking large planter. The cat box tricked several people who walked in and looked at it and had no idea it was a cat box until I let them know what it was! There is plenty of room for your cat to move around inside which my cat loves, and I love the fact the lid comes off easily for cleaning. Definitely a great litter box and I highly recommend!
Nice, but not for me
I bought this intending to use it with pellet pine litter which of course meant I had to buy something circular for the inside with holes (or make one) for the "sawdust" litter to go through, but it's just not working for me because of the circular shape. If i used regular cat litter, perhaps it would work well, but i'm using a different litter system. WIll try to resell it.
