This box is okay I guess.
I bought a couple of these for my four cats. One cat (tiger) urinates standing up and his nether region is higher than the rim. Another cat (Himalayan mix diva) is not impressed with more boxes and shes continues doing her business on brown paper bags left on the floor. My other two cats (small black, tabby Manx) use the boxes just fine. My problem with them is structural. The entry/exit is lower than the sides and good for the most part. However, the front part slopes forward and litter sprays out. Either me removing waste or over enthusiastic cat. Makes cat box cleaning (outside of the box) harder than it should be. I forgot the cardinal rule of the pictures. The pictures shown are actually kittens and not a larger adult cat picture.
Good choice but a little misleading
So I’ve never had a cat before and we just saved a cat from a bad situation. At first we got her the same kind of litter pan that she already had which was just a plain low wall pan. Litter was flying everywhere. So I ordered this to give a try. I will say I LOVE the high walls. Theirs so much less litter on the floor now. (Only what sticks to her paws) but it says that it’s supposed to be anti stick but it’s really not. Maybe a tad more than a regular one but nothing is sliding out like a non stick pan would. She likes to pee right where the corners meet all around the box so it’s annoying trying to dig the pee out. Wish they would have made it really non stick. Still a good option tho that’s affordable
In the past I dreaded when it was time for a new litter box. My cat doesn't like changes of any kind. I filled this box and put it in place and waited for her to run away when she saw it. What a surprise!!! She gave it a sniff and jumped right in. I think she likes the larger size and getting in and out is easy for her and easy for me to clean. I hope this item will be available for future orders.
XL litter boxes
My first criterion in shopping for litter boxes is that they be American made, which these are. I want to support American manufacturers. Next, I want boxes that have easy access for all the cats, with high enough sides to reduce litter scatter. These do a good job. And finally, the bigger cats have room to turn around comfortably. So far, my expectations have been met.
Good for tidy cats
I got this for my cat because she was so tidy and diligent about thoroughly covering her leavings, that she was kicking up a lot of litter. I didn't want to discourage this as a habit because she was doing her best, so I got her a larger litter box and it works. It's now big enough that the litter doesn't get kicked up everywhere, and she can use it several times before I decide to clean it. And it looks substantially bigger but doesn't take up that much more space, frankly it uses less space than the previous two smaller litter boxes, and only a bit more than one of them.
Perfect solution litter box
I purchased three of these large grey litter boxes and am so glad. They've solved many problems with previous boxes. The size is a big help for my large, aging cats. No peeing over the side. Less tracking of clay litter The inside of the box has no crevices or seams to trap clumps. All surfaces are smooth making scooping and cleaning easy. The gray color looks good. Cats are happy. Catmom is happy.
Great Big Litter Box
I love this litter box. I have two of them for our two cats. They’re easy for my cats to access because of the shorter front. The high sides and back keep any litter from being kicked out. I’ve used this style for a few years. I recently replaced them with the same style because they were old and scratched up so harder to thoroughly clean each month. I tried several types before finding this style. I highly recommend this box.
Cats love it
I was also transitioning to a new litter, but that did not seem to make a difference: the big cat (20lbs) uses this new litter box exclusively. The little cat (6lbs) is still using the old (oval smaller) whenever the new litter box is not entirely clean. I put the opening facing a wall (with lots of space between the box and the wall) and the litter tracking is significantly reduced.
Disappointed-I was looking for a high sided litter box the 24 inches it’s the same as my other litter boxes it must’ve met 24 inches across I have a large breed cat main coon didn’t help the problem, but not bad. Made very strong and If someone’s just looking for a litter box it’s fine if you can find them this sizes cheaper
A convenient place to collect ____.
The high sides keep litter from being kicked out around most of the box. That limits the litter scatter to the area outside of the lower entry/exit lip. The lower lip area provides easier access for younger kittens when they need to start using the box, and for other physically challenged cats. Flat bottom and squared corners makes scooping easier.
