I bought the extra small to replace the crate/carrier my 7lb. puppy is getting a little too big for. A few issues 1. the instructions that came with it said to not use as a carrier to transport your dog, which is the primary reason I bought it, also due to the size of it I would not have been able to carrier her in it anyway, just too big and cumbersome. 2. it is very dark, when I put her in it to try it out I could not see her. 3. she loves being in her crates but for some reason she just did not like this one? So because my husband threw the box away and I could not return it I decided to give it to my daughter with the hopes she would be able to use for the puppy she just got, she was using a metal wire crate and when she put her puppy in this one, her puppy did not like it either, very strange. It may work better for someone else but not for us, so I do not recommend if you have a smaller breed or if you plan on using it as a carrier. This review has nothing to do with Chewy, just this particular item.
I needed a crate for one of my rescues - he was reactive in the car needed something easily put away -- 3-" crate fit perfectly in my forester in the back -- Max fits in it perfectly as well -- might be a tad tight but it keeps him safe and my car safe -- its been great! He is 55Lbs - so medium to large size dog and he can stand it it and turn around in it - just can't put his head all the way up -- which is okay!
I bought this because I travel often and needed something that collapses down and would fit in my trunk. With that said, this was perfect for that, and both of my dogs prefer this crate over their big bulky plastic one. However, it was pretty short-lived because two months after I purchased it, my puppy was able to bust the zipper and escape. It no longer stays zipped so time to find something else.
My dog used to go berserk in the car from panic and anxiety. She is not crate trained, so we started from scratch and took baby steps acclimating her to this soft crate inside the house by putting her bed in it, and eventually working up to zipping it shut. After a few weeks, it was time to transfer it to the car. She likes it okay and will hop in. The 36-inch is perfect size for her, she's a 55 lb mix breed. The crate even fits in the back seat of my small sedan. It's easy to collapse down and pop back up. She hasn't destroyed any part of it because we took our time to TRAIN her to be neutral about it and we don't lock her up in it unsupervised.
My two Havanese share the Med/large and the love it. The are quiet all night long and are not active in it. I am looking forward to the ease of set up and fold up when we travel. Much easier than their metal crate. And much lighter fir me to carry.
We needed a crate that we could travel with and this is the perfect one. I was surprised at how great the quality was for the price. It is easy to assemble and put away and it comes with a handle when folded up for easy carrying.
This is exactly what I needed! I wanted a lightweight, yet sturdy, travel crate for my girl that I could easily travel with. This is excellent and my girl loves it. Not for dogs who will try to escape or scratch at the crate walls, but excellent for dogs who just need a nice place to call their own.
I was so happy when I unpacked this and set it up and my dog liked it, but then I zipped her in and she was out before I got to front door. This happened with both crate doors. Just a few pushes with her paw and zipper came apart. As this crate is x-large the zipper should be stronger. What to do now?
This is lightweight and easy to use. We carry it up and down the stairs every night. Took a minute to figure out how to set up the bars, but once you figure it out, it's easy. Haven't tried folding it back yet. Love the convenience and flexibility of the three doors. I suspect any concerted effort to scratch or bite their way out would probably succeed. Ours tried a little scratching but it didn't damage it at all and then she gave up. Now she runs in and just lays there.
We purchased this crate for our English labrador. He normally uses a 42 inch metal crate at home but we needed some thing smaller and much easier to move for when we go to our cabin. This is awesome! It fits in our car so he can ride more comfortably and calmly on the way there, and then can be set up any place in the cabin. Highly recommend it.
