I’ve been struggling with litter getting everywhere and the cats accidentally peeing outside of the box. This litter box has almost entirely fixed my problem and it’s also helped with smell!
My kitty is a big girl and she loves to kick litter out everywhere, but with this litter box I've had no problems. I was worried that she wouldn't understand how to get through the door but she got it on the first day. The walls are tall enough too so she can't kick litter everywhere, which was the main reason for the new box she would get litter everywhere now not so much. The lid works well for the smell too. All aroung its a great litter box and not a bad price either.
Before this litter box, my kitty would kick the litter EVERYWHERE on a daily basis! Now it stays smelling clean and the litter is trapped inside so no matter how much my kitty kicks the litter. It keeps almost 99% of the litter inside. Sometimes the entrance will gather some litter, but that’s as expected when kitties climb in and out of the box. At first, kitty was extremely hesitant to open the little door, especially since my kitty was so tiny. I took about a week of help for kitty to get used to opening the door by themselves. So worth it!
The look is nice, but I should have read the reviews. The door came off after two days, but more importantly, this box is REALLY difficult to latch, it takes a quite a bit of work which is ridiculous to do on a daily basis. It was annoying, I thought it was just me or the particular box I got, but after going back and reading the reviews of others, I see it's a common theme. I would not recommend this litter box.
I needed a new litter box for our shelter hospice kitty who is, ahem, enthusiastic in the litter tray. We started without the door, and she loves her litter box (and I love the lack of mess!). The door is a bit stiff and she didn't like it much. That said, kitty is ok with my other cats' box that has a door - but that door swings easily (it's a corner litter box, also from Chewy, such a great idea!). I'm going to try rubbing some wax on the hinge prongs to see if that will help it swing.
I had a litter box without a lid and my cat would get litter everywhere and actually poop on the rim. With the Frisco lided box clean up is easy and she barely get any litter outside the box (when she leaves it there's some). I took off the door because she wasn't into it but I don't mind. Having a lid on the box also cuts down on smell and dust. It's easy to carry and snap the lid on and off. My cat seems to like the added privacy too. And now I don't have to worry about my dog getting into the cat's waste, cause dogs can be yucky little monsters. I got it in pink and white, I love the colors.
We have many pans! Our big guy takes the door with him!
My two kitties were reluctant to use it at first because of the flapper. I took it off and they use it just like they did the old one. Bought the pink one, looks good.
Good Overall - Happy with overall size and shape. Easy for my 9 lb senior cat to get in an out while the wall is high enough. CONS: - Door has broken off early on, as other reviews have mentioned this. Cat didn't creak it, broke upon cleaning. I'm ok without a door, for now. - The snap lock is very tight, most times I don't leave the hood snapped on, bc it is too hard to unlock.
These litter boxes are very poorly made. The lid will not stay attached to the box and the swinging door does not swim. This box is useless and my cats will not use it.
