I got this because my cats love scatching posts and little cardboard homes but this one fell apart in just a day. My cats like to play fight while one is inside and at one point it looked liked it exploded. I tried to tape the sides to strengthen it but no use. The cats jump on it and it just falls apart when they do.
I ordered this and replaced the floor with a pillow to use as a little bedroom. The pillow fits perfectly. ***As you are assembling this, reinforce it with duct tape from the inside where no one can see it. Make sure you have that entire piece put together before you do that so that it is put together properly and evenly. IT WILL LAST MUCH LONGER!!
My kitties love it. They sometimes fight over it. I do wish it were more sturdy. When they tried to jump on the roof, it collapsed. So I may try to add some more layers to make it more sturdy. Not sure if that would work. Often when they go in, their tails catch the top of the entrance and knock the house off its foundation, or completely over. But that just makes it a different toy. =^.^= All in all, I really am glad i bought it. It was inexpensive and fun.
Needed better support for the roof. You know cats, they have to get on everything. And as soon as Sunny stepped on the roof it collapsed, on Snow who was in it. Not at all impressed.
So far we have purchased two of these houses. We have seven cats and it is funny to watch as they take turns sleeping inside of them. Very easy to assemble and are of good quality for the price.
Siobhan made it look like a tornado hit the house. I reconstructed it for my male cat who loved it in between tornado strikes. Sturdier cardboard would be nice!
I should have read the reviews....was difficult to assemble and the first cat got in...scratched, came out, jumped on top and collapsed it! I put it back together though it was already a little worse for wear and the next cat came along...its not going to last. Bummer...
It broke the first time my 7.5 lb kitten jumped on the roof. I should have known better than to buy something made of cardboard. It got 1 star because they can still use the scratch pad, nut I could have bought a scratch pad for half the price.
We love everything from Chewy, and was really sad when this completely disintegrated after the first five minutes of my cat jumping onto the roof. At least it’s a cute house.
The cats were not impressed. The box it came in got more attention. Next time I'll get a cat tree with a perch.
