It's larger than expected and has possibilities. Looks like pictured. Flat cushion which is what my cat likes. My main concern is the extremely heavy glue/chemical smell. I'm not sure about exposing my animal to this....washing the inside cushion that smells like a chemical too. Disappointed that I need to try airing this out and washing out this toxic smell. We'll see...
Round kitty bed
My 14 year old cat loves this bed! I had figured it would probably take her a week or so to get used to it, but the second day we had it she climbed in, curled up and rested her little head on the side like a pillow. She uses it now all the time, to sleep and clean herself! She LOVES it!
He doesn’t like it
I like it; my cat doesn’t It looks good Appears to be a well made product However, I can’t get my cat to use it. I’ve placed where his old bed was; put some of his toys in the bed. He just refuses to give it a chance I don’t know if it’s the legs; the scent; the padding; or what
What’s wrong with your cat?
I read lots of reviews on this beautiful looking, modern-esque piece of cat furniture. The first ones to come up are mainly negative sentiments: “it stinks and my cat won’t go near it” I immediately thought gross, that’s totally a thing that would happen and my cat wasn’t going to like it. After checking for other options I landed back on this and pulled the trigger. Quick turn around, easy assembly, slight smell, but only in the sense of everything ever manufactured has “new” smell. Anyways, the cat bed is great, all of my cats adore it without question, and I think some people just have stupid cats. My cats even choose it over this amazing wicker bed.
At first not too interested slowly getting attention quality bed sturdy for even 20 lb cat need more trees for bigger cats sure will get use with Pepper and Queenie both love window tree w circle bed
Finally something they love!
Finally something they love to be in more than the Chewy boxes! Out of five cats, four were in the bed within five minutes of taking it out of the box. I’ve never found something they’ve been so interested in. Well worth the money. I will say this… if you notice in the photo the leg has a number 2 sticker on it. I feel like the stickers that indicate what legs are vs what screws and bed platform are a waste of time for Chewy and a pain in the rear for the consumer. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like they were put on with permanent wood glue. They will eventually be removed, but for now, the kitties are learning to count… by twos.
Loved by All—After a Couple Tweaks
The bed arrived in a timely manner. Easily put together. No missing or defective parts. Both boys definitely did not like the stringy fake fur covered cushion. I tried flipping over the inside cushion and tucking in the stringy fake fur and there was definitely more interest. Though the bed was meant for my Siberian Forest, my Abyssinian/Rag Doll also gave it a try. Both big boys love the fake Sherpa fabric pieces I picked up at the local fabric shop months earlier and I put one piece into the bed. After that it was nothing but purrr love. They can knead the fake Sherpa and push it around to get comfortable (the Sherpa just by chance matches the gray of the bed perfectly) and when needed is easily tossed in the washer and dryer (translation no need to sit and try getting the inevitable build up of shed fur off the cushion. Seeing that the boys take turns sleeping in the stylish Christmas present I just ordered a second one. Now each will have a bed with a matching fake Sherpa. Despite my boy’s large sizes they still manage to get curled up together in the current bed together occasionally; that would be about 34 pounds of cat in the bed. The bed remains sturdy and has held up very well to-date. I am still pleasantly surprised they both are so happy with the bed and I can slowly remove the many cardboard boxes from my small condo. A “win” for all of us.
Our 21 pound cat LOVES this bed! He climbed right in and fell asleep. Solid, mid-century vibe that doesn’t slide on hardwood floors. Legs have felt floor protectors. Liner is comfy-thick and curved sidewalls provide back support when cat is curled up. Great design!!!
Lovely but a bit smelly at first
The bed is adorable, is a perfect size and looks great. It had a terrible chemical smell when it arrived out of the box (possible glue?). I had to air it out for a day after fabreezing it. After a few days, it was fine and my cat enjoys it a lot.
