There is no way for a cat to put its mouth on this with getting pieces in its mouth. It sheds continuously. The moppy pieces are actually a fuzz covered thread twirled tightly around. The thread is weak and thin so pieces easily break off, the fuzz isn't attached to the string so it falls right off. Only 1 of 4 (playful) cats showed any interest in it, his only mild but it was enough to leave a trail of pink fuzz and pieces (some 1/2 the size of a mop piece) left behind where it rolled when he swatted it. He did no rolling around, hugging or kicking it. Also, it doesn't look like the picture. On one side the moppy pieces are very sparse and on the other there are a bunch tightly mashed together but very short, some almost nonexistent.
This toy is cute and looks to be well made, but my cats have no interest in investigating this toy. It's hard to give a review when there's no fault with the toy. Many reviews have good things to say and cute pictures, so I thought I'd give this a try. We'll be donating this!
I was so glad I got two! I have two cats who usually aren’t very interested in toys. I went ahead and got two of these and as soon as i opened them and gave them to the cats they went nuts. I’m sure it’s the catnip but they played with them for about 20 solid minutes. It’s been about 3 weeks and they are still playing with them.
I really liked this ball, probably more than my cat did! He played with it one time and that was all, despite me encouraging him lots of times. As I said I really liked this ball and thought it was very cute!
While my kitty loves this toy, it immediately started shedding fine little bits that are a pain to clean up. I ended up throwing away since I didn’t want kitty to swallow the pieces falling off.
Cats all had fun sniffing the toy first, then it was game on as someone batted it! Kept them occupied for quite some time. I store it in a plastic bin filled with catnip to refresh the fun!
Our cat likes it but it is not her go to toy. It is a nice size, soft, and bright color.
So I just got my chewy box today. I don't normally order cat toys for my 13 year old Willie because he's very picky and prefers just to bring me lizards while I'm sleeping. However as soon as I took this out of the package and got his attention and rolled it to him he was enamored.. Now that may have something to do with the catnip in it but I'll take the moments when I can. Thanks Chewy! It was a great purchase even if he ends up shredding it eventually..
I bought this for my son's cats, and both of them LOVE playing with the balls. Not sure if it's because of the catnip, or the whispy knobs on the ball. Glad I bought each cat their own, with one extra!
If it doesn't squeak my cats went go for. I thought since this had some catnip they would be interested. Nope.
