    Great for high peeing kitties!

We have previously used plastic totes and cut an entrance but the plastic often would crack or have sharp edges…and they usually have internal ridges that are hard to clean around. As most others did, we use this without the inner tray which we donated to the shelter near us. We also don’t use the lid as our cats don’t like covered boxes. It would be great if they offered an option for the same box sans inner box and lid, but I suppose it is better to include them for those that want them. We like that the door is to the side so they actually have to go in and turn which prevents them from just walking in and peeing out the entrance. I thought with this large box and a side entry he would be forced to go all the way in. The tiny litter tray that came with it was way too small for him. I put a larger tray inside the box but he does the same thing, stopping as soon as he enters the box (the bigger tray extends in front of the entry). It might be the reason why the tray is so small because it forces the cat to go in the box and turn the corner to use the litter. It would be better if the box were longer with room for a bigger tray to be tucked into the end away from the entry. If you have a cat small enough to comfortably use the tiny litter tray or have a cat who is willing to go all the way in if using a larger tray then this should work fine. It is aesthetically pleasing and basically a good idea. … more
