I have a large dog that his nails had gotten very long and he was having a hard time walking. I had tried different thing to cut them and it never worked, but when I tried these they were very easy to use and the guard make it so easy to make sure I was not cutting to much at once, and his nails was long and thick and he laid right there and let me cut them for once. I just made sure that I bought the one for large dog

    Terrible Nail Trimmer

    By on

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product. I have two GSDs and I could not trim their nails. The trimmer is not sharp enough to cut through a nail and then gets stuck midway through the trim. I had high hopes for this trimmer, especially because it has the guard feature to avoid cutting the quick. Perhaps it works on small dog nails, but definitely not for a medium to large dog. I will be searching for another product.

    Doesn’t open wide enough

    By on

Even though I ordered the large version. The blades don’t separate far enough to get some of his thicker nails. If you’re using this for a dog bigger than a Bassett hound. Get a larger size.

    Small dog trimmer

They are sharp and cut very nicely; however, the lock safety moves into the lock position after I cut the nail. I always have to make sure the lock is off before I go to the next nail.

Poor design/flawed. Safari is better brand.

    By on

I ordered these recently as they were out of stock on the Safari brand of clippers I purchased before from Chewy and love. The nail guard is installed backwards, leaving the groove for the dogs nail to center in on the wrong side of clipper. I will have to take apart and fix. Additionally, once the nail is trimmed the clippers safety lock engages 3/4 times and you have to disengage lock to clip next nail. For dogs who need their nails trimmed fast due to nerves, this is an extra step not needed. Upon inspection, the safety lock is loosely hinged, so if right handed (like most) it will easily slip into lock position upon vibration from clipping nail. Poor design. I will fix the guard on these and donate. … more

Trims well but has a design flaw

    By on

We purchased the small nail trimmer to use on our cats nails. It does the job, but has a design flaw. I deducted 2 stars because the safety trigger engages after cutting each nail. I have to unlock it each time which is an issue with an unhappy cat who's trying to escape! I ended up taping the safety catch in the open position while using the trimmer and removing the tape after. Overall I like the design and it is easy to handle. If they can just fix the lock to stay open then it would be perfect.

    Not recommended

This “large” nail clipper barely fit my lab’s nails and it is difficult to use. I would not recommend it, especially considering the price! Very disappointed.

They cut really well and fit my hand perfectly. The only problem I had was they kept locking after each cut.
