Twice this leash has come unclipped from my puppy while on walks. Might be ok for an older dog, but would not recommend for excitable puppy still learning to walk on the leash. This morning the trash truck came through the neighborhood and she circled around my legs and that's when it came unclipped (and yes, I make sure it's all the way clipped before we leave the house). She bolted but luckily was able to call her back. Was scary, wish I could return this because will not use it again.
I love this leash. It’s thick and durable without feeling too heavy. My dog isn’t a chewer so I didn’t have any problems with that as other commenters have made. It is especially nice for wet days outside since the leash will not soak through and is easy to wipe off.
I purchased this leash after seeing a trainer use one with her dog. Honestly I just loved that I could wipe it clean! The nylon and braided styles just didnt seem sanitary and were difficult to clean. We have three large dogs, two of which I walk/run daily and I typically let their leashes drag. So dirt, mud, pee and anything on the ground would get on our leashes. I hated the idea of having to machine or even hand wash leashes on top of all the other many doggie related chores. This leash was just the ticket! Wipe clean and you are good to go! It's thick and durable, we've only used it a handful of times so far but we are happy with them!
This leash is perfect for when we take our dog to the beach and lake. No lingering smells, easy to wipe off. Perfect!
I really like the material on this leash, its easier on my hands and doesn’t pick up dirt like other leashes and it’s okay to get soaked unlike leather. I don’t recommend it for a dog that chews on things.
I got the collar and leash for my 57 lb aussie pit mix. He's a strong puller who loves swimming and splashing around in anything from a puddle to the ocean. The hardware on the leash is nice and seems like it will hold up well. I got the 6 ft/1" leash and the Medium collar. I don't think this is an every day leash but I will definitely use it for excursions that involve the river or beach! I would buy another if it came in a 4 or 5ft length.
Our dog chewed through it pretty quickly unfortunately. If your dog doesn’t chew the leash you might like it though!
This leash is truly stink proof. Great for the lake, hiking, out in the rain, etc. It dries off super quick and the pattern is so cute! I only wish it was a little thicker/sturdier. #ChewyTeamRated
I bought the matching collar, leash, and harness for my french bulldog (size medium). She's about six months old, approximately 16 lbs and it fits on the tightest setting. I really like the material, its the same kind of rubbery feel that her old collar was and it never stinks and always looks pretty much brand new (unless it gets chewed on, this kind of material is damaged easily by chewing). So far I love the whole set. The leash is super cute, and I love that it comes in multiple color options. So many of the stink proof options on the market come in boring colors or just orange. And the extra clip near the handle is great for holding a dog poop bag dispenser or whatever else you may need on your walk. I sized up to the large for the leash, as I tend to prefer 1 inch leashes, and it feels sturdy and I think it would fare pretty well for walking big dogs even if they were pullers. Overall I highly recommend! My only feedback for the other pieces of the set is the buckle on the collar appears weaker than a normal buckle, I'm not sure if its break away or what but I wouldn't trust it with a heavy puller on the end of a leash. But we don't walk our dog with her collar, just her harness so that doesn't bother me. The harness bunches kind of weird (the rubbery material takes a bit to "break in" out of the box) as its a little more rigid than a standard nylon material, but still flexible. I think if the little grey sliders on the harness were plastic instead of the same rubber material it would help keep things where they should be a little bit better and prevent some of the bunching I'm seeing. But I'm sure rubber sliders are more comfortable for the dog and I'm pretty confident that after its worn a few times it'll straighten itself out and stay where I want it to.
Not happy with rubbery quality of the material. Very heavy and doesn’t relax in my hand - no give. Maybe good for bigger dogs but too cumbersome for small dog.
