This bedding is not good for guinea pigs for how dusty it is. I bought it thinking it would be the same but it's not. The shavings are so fine that it has a lot of dust I tried to get the dust out but it proved impossible.
I typically get the Kaytee 52 L pack, but got a better deal on this Frisco pack, liters per dollar wise. The Frisco shavings are much thinner; the Kaytee ones are more course. I'll probably continue to get the Kaytee ones since they're generally cheaper, but the Frisco ones are indeed of a higher quality.
I live in an urban area and have 3 chickens. I have to make a special trip to a farm store 40 mins away. I ordered this product online as a substitute. I was very happy with product. It costs more than a farm store, but saves me a trip on Saturday.
This product says 99.9% dust free, but the package is 99% dust.
We switched our guinea pigs from a more popular brand of pine shavings to this FRISCO brand when our newest adoptees brought our total pigs to 10. This brand is significantly less expensive, and though the shavings don't look like those pictured on this product page, searches elsewhere online show the actual look and size of the shavings. The chunks are larger and not as "soft" as the more well-known brand we used before but our piggies live mostly on fleece with "litter boxes" of pine bedding. The odor control seems to be on par with other shavings despite looking like it shouldn't be that absorbent. In an ideal world where I had more money to allot to litter, sure, I'd go with a more expensive and softer brand. But I'd also live in a mansion and my pigs would occupy an entire floor. So here in the real world, these FRISCO shavings are good enough and a nice break for my wallet.
I have small fur babies who need fluff for their homes. This product has a good price, ships fast, and is packed with fluff so you really get a great amount for the price! Very happy
Good product, I won't have to order for a long time.
I ordered this because it was one of the autoship options, but it is nothing like pictured. It comes in big, discolored chunks, rather than shavings, and it is rough on the Guinea pigs’ feet. I remember telling my boyfriend it just looked dirty. I have used pine bedding for my Guinea pigs for years now, and have never had an issue, and the one time I used this brand of bedding, my pig got ringworm. Seriously, do not buy this brand.
It goes a long way, it's soft and it's a good price and does the job
I would recommend this brand of shavings. They were soft and free of big chunks of wood or bark. The price is good for the size bag that you get.
