what size for a Bichon 18 lbs?

For the best fit, match the below dimensions to your pet's measurements as closely as possible. If your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two. For the body measure the base of the neck to the base of the tail. For the body measure around your dog's neck leaving room for two fingers. For the chest measure your dog's chest around the widest part.
Does this have an opening for a leash with a harness that is over the back instead of the neck?

This peacoat has only a single opening for a leash on the gingham pattern which should be far enough back to attach to a harness.

Looks good, but sizing is off

Great looking jacket, but the sizing chart is quite off. I ordered based on my dogs' measurement and both jackets were way too big for both dogs. I ordered several other items and most were true to size chart, but this item (and a few more) were absolutely not. I do like it, but just suggest ordering a size down from what the chart suggests.

Very cute coat but does not fit right

I have two of this coat in small and medium sizes and neither fits my 10 lb dog well. The small fits her torso snuggly but too tight around neck. The medium is perfect around neck but too big around torso, so it does not provide much warmth. I really really love the look of this coat, just wish it fits better.

Cozy & Cute

We love this hoody/jacket ... it's super cozy, a great fit, adorable - and most importantly to my beagle is velcro so he doesn't have to maneuver his arms into sleeves

Chester should be on the cover of Vogue...

This jacket is PERFECT. Once again, Chewy comes through. The jacket covers him completely, keeps him warm. The keyhole is perfectly positioned for his harness. I can't think of anything bad to say.

Welcome comfort

Bought this jacket for my best buddy Riley to help him on our cold winter days. Fortunately it arrived before we were faced with those cold days that affected much of our country during Christmas week. No problem getting the jacket on him and he really seems to like it.

preppy all good

Love the coat and the fit was perfect -- I went up a size he is a 40 pounder but big chested so I order the EXTRA Large and glad I did a big thanks to other posters who helped me make that choice. The coat looks so cute on and he seems happy in it.

Bella the Diva

She loves her new coat. Easy on, easy off. No fighting with her at all. Stays put, easy to get to harness/leash hookup too. May have to try her with a costume next year!

so adorable!

my dog looks so cute in this, especially with the hood up. his brother tried to take the tabs of so I've ordered the same jacket for him. now we are waiting for some cool weather to wear them. my boys are 55 lbs and the size I bought fits them perfectly.

Hood needs to be longer

Nice jacket, but the hood is too short to be useful If you are looking for a good for your baby, this may not work. For that reason, I would not recomend this.
