Still not big enough....
Purchased the largest size(xxxl) for our pyr yellow lab mix dog(who has the coat of a lab). It's better than her last coat actually covering her chest. I would have preferred another inch or two to have the top of her tail bone covered and just another inch or so around her stomach area so the coat wasn't so tight to put it on her. The hood was way too big for her... ill probably add a snap on the hood to keep it back so at leasr its still fashionable and functional. The hood does pop off btw. If it keeps her from getting a cold this year I'll deal with it for now. Will still be hunting down a 4x coat for her as well as sweaters.
Not a good fit
i started with a 2X for my full sized Golden Doodle and it was too small...barely closed in front. Re-ordered a 3X and although it does close, the hood is way too big flopping over his eyes. and the front arm holes are cut too high, so it cuts into his armpits. He is visibly uncomfortable in it. When I hold up his old jacket he wags his tail and gets excited to go out. When I hold up this new one, he runs from me. Tried it on my daughter's mixed breed and had a similar reaction.
Fits a miniature dachshund perfectly!
I followed the measurement guide and got a size small for my miniature dachshund and it fits perfectly with some room in the chest/torso to grow (she's only 8mo old). She's just under 9lbs, 14 in back length (from neck to butt), 11.5 in chest girth. If she has the hood on it covers her eyes but you can fold it back and it will keep her neck warm (it can also be removed if it ends up getting in her way too much). The quality feels better than I expected for the price!
Ripped so easily
Carl and Walter got these coats for Christmas, but we let them open them on the 23rd because they are Southern dogs and they are not used to 10 degree weather! They fit great, and were easy to get on and off. I thought they were perfect until after only wearing them 5 times one of them got a rip in it. I'm not even sure how it happened because they never stayed out for more than a few minutes, and we don't have many bushes they could have gotten caught on. We were hoping these would last for years, especially since they won't have to wear them much. Everything about them was perfect except for their durability.
Size up for a great fit!
I wasn't sure ordering a size up would be the right move, but I really wanted nearly all of my Aussie's back to be covered. Using the size chart, she measured in at XXL, but it would've left a fair amount of her back exposed. I took a chance and ordered an XXXL, and it fits pretty well. I expected it to be several inches too loose around the chest, but it actually looks like it is may be a little snug under her arms. After feeling around there appears to be adequate room for her to move without friction. Now that I've seen the XXXL, I'm quite certain the XXL would not have fit her. The jacket itself is very "fashion forward" and will add sufficient warmth for future cold weather outings.
cute but can’t use - sizes are not accurate
Just received today & I’m very disappointed. My dog is a little over 16 lbs, measuring approximately 21” across the chest. Based on the Chewy recommendation & recommendations in reviews, I sized up to a lg. she swims in it, so I laid it flat to measure. Description lists length at 17” & this measured 19.5” from neck to back end. Just the neck from zipper to zipper was 21” - her chest measurement. I’ve received a refund, but I need the coat. I’d like to get the correct size, but Chewy will not exchange. I ordered it with other items so I wouldn’t have to pay shipping, so it will cost me more to reorder because I will have to pay shipping now. I also have no idea what size to get instead to be sure it fits. Based on how much bigger the large was, I’m concerned the medium may also end up being too big.
Perfect Winter Jacket!!
I bought this for my 15 pound poodle/bichon mix as it gets fairly cold during Ohio winters. Little did I know the timing was perfect ahead of Christmas' "bomb cyclone." This jacket kept her toasty warm for quick bathroom breaks when the temperatures were -20 outside. And again when our power went out for 3 hours and the temperature in our house dropped 15 degrees. She doesn't love the hood, but it has snaps for easy removal. Love the color and the fur detail - 100% recommend!
Got the largest... didn't fit
I don't have a super big dog. But what is considered a med/lg breed. A Rhodesian Ridgeback. I got the largest coat for him and it is too small. No he is not overweight. In fact he is very lean. The coat around his legs are too tight and it will not fit around his barrel chest. I will try to alter it to fit. Wish me luck. Other than that it looks like a really nice coat. So if you have a big dog... Don't go by the measurements they provide for this particular coat.. it will be too small.
Best dog coats ever!
These are the cutest coats plus they’re very warm and easy to put on. They have a leash hole so I can put their harnesses on underneath and run the leash through it. My 13 pound dog is a little tubby through the middle so she needed a medium but the two smaller, 9 & 11 pound dogs wear smalls. It wasn’t very cold so I detached the hood, which is also a cool feature! Highly recommend! 10/10
Perfect for Our Havanese
This coat is perfect for our 16 pound Havanese. We have unseasonably cold weather this year so I ordered the coat and got it in 2 days, just in time for the freezing temps. We ordered a medium based on the chart's neck and chest measurements and it fits great. Plenty of room in the leg holes as well. She didn't like the hood, so we easily removed it and she loves to run and play outside with her coat on. It keeps her warm enough so she doesn't shiver anymore.
