Initially we really liked this jacket. The outside is water resistant, no inside padding to get wet but still insulated and warm, the harness clip hole was a bonus. I purchased it mid November. It is now early January and the Velcro part is falling apart. It is coming unstitched from the coat and fraying. So less than two months of wear and now it will go to a landfill and I have to buy something else. How unfortunate as this has the potential to have differentiated itself in a good way from other jackets. Would not buy again or, unfortunately, recommend.
I got this coat for my pit bull because she does not like walking in the rain and I figured she was cold walking in 20-30 degree weather in Western NY. The coat is cute and works for keeping the rain off her back, but it didn't fit her particularly well (loose around her body) and I didn't think it was actually keeping her warm. The velcro closure underneath her body was hard to fasten properly. The reflective strips are nice tho!
Along with the quilted boomer jacket, the Velcro on these jackets is sub standard. (See review of bomber jacket). Again wearing out after 10 uses. Stronger material is necessary for these jackets. They do provide warmth and some water protection in addition to the reflective material. Due to my work schedule, I am walking my dogs sometimes as early as 4am. Although I am in the country area with little traffic, the reflective material has helped to keep us safe. I recommend this jacket
Arrived just before the below zero windchill and deep freeze in the Deep South. Probably saved my dogs life. It fit perfectly and made it possible for him to venture outside for bathroom breaks. Love, love, love it. My dog loved it too! He has never worn clothing items and seemed right at home in this jacket.
I really liked this coat, but Max managed to get it off after 3 or 4 days I probably should have gotten a size smaller as he's still a big puppy (Doberman) and chews everything he was able to chew through the shoulder. Made me mad cause he looked so dapper with it on.
looked great when i opened it I have a 35 lb wheaten terrier I ordered a large based on the reviews and it was still tight Just need to take that into consideration if ordering
I love this jacket for my 30lb bernedoodle puppy when we take nighttime potty breaks! It’s easy to put on with the Velcro under the stomach and it’s reflective enough for safety. Definitely recommend!
I find that this coat needs an extra vel-cro or wider vel-cro strap to hold the top of coat snug to Heidi's back. It now is very lose fitting and on the back.
My 8 month puppy Eli loves his walks and he literally jumped into this coat when he first got it. Nice addition to his jacket collection
Sadly my dog's wide chest body style is not a good match for this coast. It's well made and feels like it would be very comfortable if only it fit her front legs/armpits better. Also, the leash hole is too far forward to easily connect to a harness.
