Frisco Ripstop Dog Life Jacket

100% worth it

I took my girl out on her first kayak ride with my dad and this life vest was a life saver! She liked to be at the nose of the kayak and during the trip fell into the lake 3 times! She would plunge all the way in, float to the top, I'd grab the handle on the vest, easily lift her back into the kayak, and she'd proceed to go back to the nose of the kayak! I love that this vest has a clip for her leash as well. It is easy to put on and adjust the straps for a perfect fit. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat for more water-loving pups!

I had this vest for a few years and have only been in a few situations where it was required. But the first time I actually needed to utilize it to pull my dog onto my paddle board when he fell in, the entire handle ripped off before I could get him on the board. The other handle also began to tear as I lifted my dog up on the second try. Thankfully I was with others or I don’t think I would have been able to get my 80lb dog back on the board myself without a handle. Very concerning given that I’ve never used the handle before so it isn’t worn at all. Not worth the risk if you plan to use this for large dogs in open water environments

Well priced and comfortable

Haven't (thankfully) had to use it in the water yet but can be fitted nice & snug, has both velcro and clip closures. Double handles on top a plus as no way we could ever pull our 65-pound guy out of the water and back on board without 2 handles. Orange is good as can be spotted quickly if there were an emergency on the river.

Great Product, well made, comfortable, and sturdy

Our dog loves his life vest. It's very hot here, and I was worried about him overheating, especially since he has to wear it 100% of the time on the boat, but it has never been a problem. The padding also helps keep him from getting knocked around quite so much. He is a bit longer than he is tall, so this style suits him well. (A shorter-backed/long-legged dog may appreciate a shorter style vest.) We haven't had to use the handles to lift him, but it had a nice, soft, wide belly band and two claps over that, and I'm confident it can keep him safe without sacrificing comfort in such a situation.

Looks Great, Not sure it will support

Sorry, I am doing this review before actually testing the vest! Tried it on and it is short on the torso which concerns me that the back half is un-supported. The clasps look strong and the belly piece is nice and soft and looks like a great support. Also like the chin support. Really look forward to our dog giving it a full test in the lake!

Seems to be comfortable, works well

This is our second round with this life jacket, we had to order a larger size due to our girl outgrowing her first one. When it was time to size up I looked at others but in the end fell back on this one since we liked the first one so much. She always seems fairly comfortable, and we’re able to lift her back into boat or kayak with the handles. It is also able to support her weight nicely when she’s floating.

Great for small dogs!

Excellent fit. I followed the measurements and instructions. My dog is about 15 lbs. But her measurements ended up being between a small and medium. I ordered the medium. It fits perfect and we go paddle boarding on the lake together. The jacket actually gives her confidence as she is 7 years old and never went swimming. She swims and goes paddling now. It's fantastic!

Excellent product!

We got this for our 19 pound pup. It is made really nice and definitely gives him the security in the pool that we were hoping for. Easy to grab handles on the top to be able to keep him close or to help him out of the pool.

This life jacket fits perfectly! It is easy to put on & stays on securely. It's not bulky, but helps our Harvey float when he jumps into the water.

This life jacket is the perfect fit for our corgi Buck. As you can see in the pictures it fits great and he loves wearing on his fishing trips on the boat! Highly recommend.
