Soft and Cuddly
Mia loves her new pet bed. She was a little cautious at first, like the behavior of most cats. The bed really warms up and on occasion Mia needs to move to another part of the couch! I just love how her body heat warms the bed. No electricity is needed!
Cats like them
We have 3 cats that would rather not come inside, though they are often invited in. I've provided them with various types of shelters and bedding. Acorn prefers sleeping in the feed room in a storage tote lined with styrofoam and old pillows and a flexible carry tote with her self Frisco self warming mat lining the bottom and side. Spider and AC prefer to be in the open garage where there's an insulated dog crate that has a thick, soft bolster bed, and a hanging blanket instead of a door. AC will sometimes sleep there, and Spider will sometimes use another similar shelter, but they prefer to sleep on some blankets on top of the crate. I added a self warming mat on top of the blankets they had claimed, and I find them sleeping there more often now. I like that the mat is thin and flexible with a different texture on each side. Acorn prefers to sleep on the thicker fleece side, and Spider and AC prefer the velvety side.
WELL WORTH IT
Was kind of sceptic of size/comfort due to low price but, was well worth it. Just the right size for my pit/lab mix and Wheaton. They can't lay on it together but my Wheaton sleeps on my bed anyway. My pit lab loves it though. He's older and the padding is just right!
Good thought but
This was a great purchase until our almost one year old lab pup decided she did not like it in her crate and ripped it to shreds We tried two days but no luck The foil inside that I guess has the self heating material stayed inside for a while but her anger chewing just took over It was a good idea but not well received Perhaps it would be better outside of the kennel since she does like the soft beds in other parts of our house Hope this review gives others a note of warning for tough chewers
ripped seam, no self warming material
The ripped seam made it apparent that there is no self warming layer - no thermal, aluminum type insert. This is fleece covered with a thin layer of polyfill. Definitely not self warming. A thick fleece blanket would do more.
purrfect!!
This is perfect for our youngest cat, she gets cold easily and this is perfect for her to keep her warm when she naps. one of our other cats is also easily cold so we might have to get a second soon! perfect!
Cats Love These!
It didn't take long for my cats to figure out that these are warm and furry! We keep one on the back of the couch where they love to roost, and added the other to their line-up of beds. My Maine Coon is basking on one right now! Very affordable, love that they are machine washable.
Canine beds
My dog did not like how flat it was. The top of the bed is warm and cozy, but it needs more cushion for older dogs. It fit in her crate nicely, it was just too thin for her.
Plush mat!
This is a very nice, plush pad. My cats will love it once they get out of the Chewy box (what's up with that?!). I ordered the blue and it is a gorgeous deep navy blue, not pale like the photo shows. I like this better, but if you're particular, keep that in mind. It is crinkly, but that only adds to the thrill. One odd thing that may be an issue is static. When I was removing the plastic tags, the shocks coming from the aluminum lining through my fingertips were unpleasant. Hopefully it won't be a problem, but I'll update this review if it is. I also bought the K&H mat for comparison. This is larger and much denser, quite luxurious. Both mats are made in China. I didn't notice the static shocks from the K&H mat, but it had fewer tags to remove and I handled it less.
Nice product but cats don't use it
Its a very nice product but my cats won't use it. They prefer their cat tree I purchased from chewy. This product is well constructed and plush. I gave the product 5 stars because theres nothing wrong with it, my cats just don't like change.
