The best way to clean a litter box is to dump the entire box and soak it in hot water for a few minutes. Use a mild detergent as needed.
The length of the lip opening is 3 inches from the floor.
It's a good ol' standard litter box, and it's been great for us! Our 2 old dudes will not abide anything fancy when it comes to the bathroom. I was slightly skeptical that the lowered side, only a couple inches lower than the previous box, would make a difference... But our arthritic 16yo has such an obviously easier time with this. I'm glad such an easy upgrade has made such a difference for him. I like that the box is a little larger, too. They do sometimes push some litter over the lower edge when burying but that's likely unavoidable and more a review of the cats than the box ;) We use a pellet litter so it's easy to clean up. We paired this with the iPrimio Cat Litter Trapper EZ Clean Mat which is the perfect size for this box, great for catching spilled litter and is awesome protection for the floor.
it's okay, very big and low entrance how my cat needs it, but the bottom of it is warped and every time my cat goes in the bottom gets flat with his weight and when he goes out it goes back to being warped again, so that must not be fun or comfortable for him. also i wish there were other colors.
The low sides and low entry are amazing for the old guy living with me. He is 17 and has arthritis. He is able to get in and out with no problem. The downside to low entry and sides with an arthritic cat? Well he cannot squat as well as he used to and ends up peeing over the edge and onto the floor. Totally not his fault! But frustrating none the less.
I have an old kitty (18.5) who has had arthritis for awhile. This box has been amazing! She can use it!!! She had started going on the floor in front of the litter box and I know she was embarrassed by that. I decided to look and see if they had some kitten boxes with shallow enough sides she didn't have to step into and found this. Cat boxes have come a long ways since she was a kitten. She's on her 9th but when she goes this litter box will stay for my others getting up there in age.
Perfect for our newly three pawed kitty while she's healing! VERY spacious, and size is low enough that she can get in and out with ease!
Our 17 year old was able to climb in, turn around and out on her own with little trouble. It does need a hood option for households with cats who fling sand all over.
It's a molded plastic litter box. There really isn't much that can go wrong here. Thick, sturdy. Works just fine. My issue was how it was shipped. It came in a GIANT 30x30x16 box with NO packing material. Probably could have shipped a couple dozen of these things in that box and still needed packing material.
My senior cat was struggling to get into a traditional litter box and was going beside it. This litter box was the perfect solution.
My Flash has hip problems and cannot get into a normal litter box. I saw this one with a lower entry and tried it. He is able to step in and out of it easier and to do his business!
I like this pan a lot, although my one cat kicks out more grass litter than the higher pan I was using, but my other cat finds a lower pan easier to get in & out of and he is "not" a kicker. It's a pretty good size also.
