No more bowls!!! Food mats are great!!!
My 12 year old dog quit eating his dog food out of a bowl. He wanted it on his big mat that has his food & water bowls. I was washing it every day and was glad to find these mats, i also got the green Star Wars mat, too. He eats all his kibble with some soft food topping every night. It is so easy to put in top shelf of dishwasher after each feeding. I really recommend these for small dogs.
Work well, wish US made
I like the size of these and that there’s a hole for hanging them on a hook if you want to. They don’t slide on my floors. I make fruit and vegetable purées and use 3 to 4 oz to fill the wells in the texture and freeze for at least 3 hours. My dog works for about 10-15 minutes which is enough to let lotion absorb into her skin. I do wish these were made in the US and have therefore ordered the HyperPet brand to try (although I wish those had a hook hole or suction).
These are great!
This keeps my dog busy. It's especially helpful on rainy days when I can't take my dog out. Licking is also a soothing and calming thing for dogs so I think if you have an anxious dog, this will definitely help. Also if your dog is a chewer, be sure to watch them so they don't start chewing on the mat itself. I've put peanut butter and I've also put goat milk and put it in the freezer which makes it even longer for my dog to finish it.
Great for bored dogs
These mats are wonderful for our older dogs who need a little something to keep them occupied on rainy day afternoons when they can't get outside as usual. A couple of teaspoons of peanut butter on each one holds their interest for nearly an hour. The different textures are a bonus--our blind dog gets the blue mat with the more open pattern, while the other one gets the more challenging tighter weave.
nice idea, not quite the right solution
I bought 2 sets of these for my cats to help them eat slower, and it definitely worked! However, they seem to hold onto smells quite intensely. I don’t have a dishwasher and hand washing doesn’t quite cut it for these unfortunately. I’ve washed them with soap, vinegar, soaked them overnight, and they still smell worse than the food itself!
Great product and unbeatable price!
I haven't used a lick mat before purchasing these and was a bit skeptical if they'd stay put or if while licking my dogs would slide them around. I gave my dogs them on the kitchen floor, and they stayed put. The dogs loved them, and it's quick and easy on my end for enrichment. Highly recommend! I've seen them at close to $10 per lick mat other places. Really glad they were on the buy 2 get 1 free special. All 5 of my dogs love them!
I have two dogs, one is a bit more enthusiastic about food. You can't leave this alone with her because when the peanut butter is gone she'll just start eating it. She shredded the blue one pretty quickly. It is a good tool for nail trims or baths. My other dog loves it and then leaves it when she's done. So, same as anything else, just watch your dog with them. For the price I think they're great. Kong should come out with one!
Lick Mat's ROCK
These are great items to give your furry-babies. You have to find something they really enjoy for them to get the full result. My puppy does not like COLD, yet. Since we live in Texas and it is summer it will not be long and she will like it soon. At least try them and see. It is rather cheap treat.
We use these mats to give our dog peanut butter, pumpkin and other soft foods. They hold onto the treat and are fairly easy to clean afterward considering the textured surface. It's easy to see that they would be a great feeding surface for a smaller dog who eats softer food too quickly instead of getting a slowing dish. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
These are great
Thought these would be too small for my large dog, but nope, these can hold enough material! Have been mixing yogurt/pumpkin, or peanut butter/banana/yogurt, with bone broth in my back pocket for the next round. They keep him occupied for a little while and definitely seem to be soothing. Will now be buying more so that I can always have some ready on rotation.
