Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

Great harness. Great experience with Chewy.

Thank you to Chewy for helping me work through this order. I needed to order several sizes because the first L I ordered was mislabelled by the manufacturer and fit exactly like my dog’s M. I tried XL and it was way too big. I tried this L one more time and it’s perfect - the size is exactly as indicated. Love the Frisco harness because it’s lightweight and breathable. The hardware buckles and unbuckles with ease and the loops on top are strong to connect the leash. We use this harness for two of our dogs and feel they are comfortable and importantly securely connected. Love that this is a year-round fabric. Easy to keep clean. It’s a reliable harness that goes well with all leash/collar accessories. And except for this one experience, the sizes are true & accurate.
