Hay and grasses such as Timothy, Brome, Orchard Grass, etc. are naturally grown and harvested. The weather, growing, and harvesting conditions of hay and grasses each year can affect the crop's color. Storage conditions can also affect the color. Hay can be packaged with a beautiful green color however if the product is stored in a lighted area it will begin to turn brown. This does not mean it has lost its nutritional value. It is also possible a bag may include some brownish leaves, again this is not unusual and does not affect the nutritional value of the product!
Frisco Timothy Hay is all 1st cut hay!
The length of time a box of hay will last will depend greatly on how much hay your small pets eats. We recommend always having fresh hay available for your small pets!
Timothy hay can be a great supplement to your chinchilla's complete and balanced diet!
What is the best way to store the hay?
We recommend keeping the hay in a dry area off the ground and out of direct sunlight. Do not store hay in an airtight container.
Is this safe for horses?
Timothy hay is absolutely safe for horses!
Does this come in a Chewy box?
Frisco Timothy Hay will come in its own Frisco by Chewy box!
My rabbit hates it. It has been a total waste of money because it is like sticks; it’s all green and smells fresh but next to no grass & leaves. Some soft tops but she is passing them up too. Lots of dust. She is an adult rabbit and healthy. Sometimes picky with greens but has always loved her Timothy Hay second cut- just not by Frisco. Too hard and dry
I have never dealt with more dust than with this box - which had no other container for the hay, it was literally just a thin cardboard box. The fluffy hay treats that the pigs like to pick out (what are they called?) were crumbling to the touch and a lot of them had oxidized.
I’m not sure why there are so many haters on this item. The box of hay I got was fresh and has lots of long pieces, not the short ones my bunny refuses to eat. Minimal hay dust inside. Some of the best quality hay I’ve tried through Chewy or any other retailer.
This Timothy hay great quality and my bunnies and chinchillas loved it so much! It’s fresh and lasts a long time! The quality is amazing and my animals can definitely tell the difference if it’s fresh or not! I highly recommend this brand of hay just for the quality and value!
I'm giving this hay one star for all the seed heads in the box. The rest of the box was predominantly crumbs and very short, hard hay. There was a few handfuls of good sized strands, but not even a pound worth. It could just be the time of year, as this is off season.
I purchased this for my year old rabbit. This is the horrible hay I have ever seen. It is so full of dust n dirt that it's impossible to use. I am extremely disappointed n will never purchased again. Stay away from this product.
The box contained many pieces of hard, stiff hay that my piggies wouldn't eat; I think I ended up throwing out at least half the hay. Not ordering this brand again.
This box is full of fresh hay! Long pieces I could live without because I had to get big strong scissors to cut them down for my guinea pigs other than that smelled like fresh hay and they loved it! Great value
I like this and so does my guinea pigs. They like all your products.
I was really excited to try the Frisco Timothy Hay for my 2 pet rabbits. They sniffed it and hopped away. They wouldn’t eat it and it’s actually pretty messy because the small pieces come out around the box. I would not use it again.
