So disappointed this morning! I purchased this back in late November. So I've literally had this gate for less than a month and a half. For the price, I assumed it would obviously last longer than that. I bought it because I hate putting holes in my walls, and I liked the fact that it could stay with just the secure suction cups. Well, the suction is not secure and strong enough. This gate wants to fall way easier than it should. AND, this morning I noticed that the latch wasn't latching as it should. And all of this is in no way due to my dog's impact/wear and tear of it. Because "Bear" is barely 14lbs, a very SMALL breed. And I got this gate w/ the tall height, just to make sure he couldn't jump over it. And it's so high, that he has never even attempted to jump over it, or even push on it whatsoever. He literally just sits behind the gate. So there is absolutely no reason why this product should fail and last less than 2months. Plus, I'm a single mom budget and actually paid a guy $20 to install the thing, because assembly projects just aren't my comfort zone. So to pay the hefty price for this gate AND pay for installation --- to have it be falling apart already, is just so beyond FRUSTRATING. :( I can't even imagine how quickly this product would break down for people who actually do have dogs who do jump or push on it. Sadly so not worth it.
This gate is a quality product that's easy to set up. Alas, it wasn't a workable solution for my dog. When I requested a return, the customer service was stellar. Fast, courteous, helpful response. Chewy values its customers. How many companies can you say that about?
I love the gate. We have a Labrador and this gate keeps her out of areas she doesn't need to be in. We had a smaller one and she would climb over it. She can't climb over this one.
I like this gate. The not reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because I could use a single bar xtension. The two bar extension is too long for the extra tightness I need.
I have bought several gates like this from chewy and they are always great! I loved the height of this gate - maybe im just doing something wrong - but we can never get one side to tighten like all the other sides and other gates I have. Still love the gate though!!
The doggie door is nice and tall and so this discouraged my dog from standing up and leaning on the top. But the door is flimsy with the extensions. I had to add some trim to my sheetrock then ancor the door stops to the trim to make the door more secure.
I bought two of these gates and they are great work well easy to install stay in place I was making my own of wood and this is much better without all the work and really cost less so glad to have them
We have a rambunctious 8 month old boxer. We gated off a large section of our hallway because our dog has trauma in the crate. He is safe and we are happy. It's sturdy and secure. It also looks highend and not cheap. Definitely recommend. We are actually considering getting 2 more to replace our gates on our deck.
Firstly I did NOT follow the installation instructions so I did not expect guaranteed results. My 50lb Pit Bull Mix can jump over this gate AND can knock it down if she wanted to. However the gate “door” allowed us to teach her when the space was off limits or not. It provides a visual threshold for her. With a traditional baby gate, we would have to remove the entire gate, and she can easily replicate that action. I suspect that if you actually drill into the wall and follow the instructions you will have a good barrier for most pets. However it can’t hurt to do thresholds training in addition. We purchased two of these!
Doesn’t fit securely. Per specs should fit my door way but just barely so there’s no tension making it easy to push off and dangerous
