Great product!! The gate goes from 29"-32" then with the extention 36"-38". I hear people complain that you can't do anything if your doorway/entrance way falls in the middle. All I can say is use your head. People are so dumbed down by society that if it doesn't come right out of the box and work there's nothing they can do. I used 1×s and upstairs 2×s to close the gap. EASY!! Also I hear about the flimsy plastic latch mechanism. No problem here. Simply tighten the top a bit more so none of the Grey plastic can be seen and so the door opens just a wee bit snug. Then realize that it's not a car door or the door to your house. USE IT GENTLY. My three boys( great Dane lab mix, American staffordshire terrier, and chow lab mix) are rough on the gates and I haven't had a problem at all. I have 4 of these gates installed. Highly recommend. Great gates if used and installed correctly
I have an existing arched pattern gate that separates my back porch where I have a sliding door so wanted the same brand since it has been great. This one was just as easy to install other than I had an unusual width and had to add 2x6 jamb boards on each side but is at my basement entrance so was not a big deal. It does seem narrower, but not too much, works as I needed and that is what matters. Great gates that I would recommend to anyone.
I was looking to replace the baby gate for something taller my dog could not jump over. While the height of this one works great the metal is so thin and light that my dog just bent the gate at the bottom and has figured out he can push it to get out of the room. Save yourself the money and just buy a taller baby gate. They are made better. More sturdy.
This is one of the worst gates I have purchased, although the height is good, the gate comes apart. If my dogs jump up against it after two times it does not hold its position where you tighten it to the wall. This is very frustrating sense this gate is not cheap.
This gate is good quality, easy to install, and high enough to keep our big cat out of the kids bedrooms. It feels sturdy even with the extender. I purchased it for the swing close feature because little kids forget to close doors, and with the doors open there is better air flow.
So disappointed this morning! I purchased this back in late November. So I've literally had this gate for less than a month and a half. For the price, I assumed it would obviously last longer than that. I bought it because I hate putting holes in my walls, and I liked the fact that it could stay with just the secure suction cups. Well, the suction is not secure and strong enough. This gate wants to fall way easier than it should. AND, this morning I noticed that the latch wasn't latching as it should. And all of this is in no way due to my dog's impact/wear and tear of it. Because "Bear" is barely 14lbs, a very SMALL breed. And I got this gate w/ the tall height, just to make sure he couldn't jump over it. And it's so high, that he has never even attempted to jump over it, or even push on it whatsoever. He literally just sits behind the gate. So there is absolutely no reason why this product should fail and last less than 2months. Plus, I'm a single mom budget and actually paid a guy $20 to install the thing, because assembly projects just aren't my comfort zone. So to pay the hefty price for this gate AND pay for installation --- to have it be falling apart already, is just so beyond FRUSTRATING. :( I can't even imagine how quickly this product would break down for people who actually do have dogs who do jump or push on it. Sadly so not worth it.
I have a Pomsky who's charting to be 30lbs. He, as a puppy, is quite the climber. The kid could scale 36 inches. This is perfect and the install was so easy. Took me 10 minutes (mostly just unboxing)
It’s extremely flimsy and the extension separates every time from the gate when my dog jumps on it and pushes right thru it! Will never buy another one again. So disappointed
I bought 3 of these gates. They work well for our fate jumper. The only problem i have is they are not all 3 the same size even though they are all the 41 frisco gate. I tried to use an extension from one on the other and it was like 1/2-1 inch shorter......
We love this gate. Scout is an English Springer And it does its job great. Our son is 5 and loves to be in his playroom with out his little brother eating his toys. And we can leave the door open with this gate for not only for safety but also for heating the room.
