If you don’t have a fenced-in yard, a tie-out cable provides dogs with secure access to the yard so they can take care of potty business. Designed to work together with any stake plus a dog collar (not included), it creates a safe zone that allows dogs the freedom to go outside while preventing them from escaping the yard if they get distracted. That way, you can make sure your pup makes good use of his outdoor time—like answering the call of nature—instead of getting into doggy shenanigans. It’s easy to use—just clip one of the metal swivel clips to one side of the stake (not included), and the other one to your dog’s collar. After your dog “goes”, simply unclip and they’re ready to come back inside. These tie-out cables are available in a variety of lengths and widths so you can find the one that’s just right for your pup.

This product says it for to tie out LARGE DOGS . I say don't waste your money . my Standard size Aussie ( about 60 , 65 pounds ) had this broke more than once in a two week time frame . We are talking brand new right out of packaging . Um pretty laid back most times to faulty product . But not when it's right of the bat and my dog doesn't weigh anywhere near what the people claim the product can handle .
I don't know how my big boy does it but he gets kinks and knots in all of the tie out cables that I buy within a few weeks. So far these cables are fantastic! And no, he's not outside continuously. He's goes out and does his business then comes right back in. Thanks chewy for another great product!
Hey all, so I live in an apartment with no fenced in yard. I purchased 2 of these for my 61 pound husky pitbull and my 35 pound pitbull. I wasn’t concerned about the little one because she doesn’t pull at all but my husky pit does, so I made sure to watch very closely when I initially attached the rope to his harness. The description says to not attach to a harness but he’ll get right out of his collar so I did it anyway with caution. I will say on the first attempt he ripped the stake right out of the ground and got loose but I believe I put it in a bad spot that didn’t have that thick soil. Second attempt was perfect. They both played in the yard for 5 hours without it coming loose once (after the first mishap.) The cables do twist a little because I have 2 close to each other but it’s not a big deal to untangle them every hour or so. Very happy with this product! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking. They’re going to have a great summer outside, I’m so excited for them!
I bought another cable somewhere else and the head of it was so big I could barely open it with one hand, and it was so heavy I felt like I was putting my dog through neck strengthening exercises! This is the perfect balance between strength, weight, and price. He's a 75 lb Great Dane mix and I don't have concerns about him getting loose on this.
I love the color! Perhaps I should have read the description on this lead though. I thought “Large” meant it was intended for a large-breed dog. It’s not. Long, but thin. I bought it for my 166 pound Newfoundland. She loves to lay out front in the yard. Fortunately, she’s up there in years and doesn’t pull like she used to, so I’m using it. It’s working, but I really wanted a lead intended for a large/giant-breed dog. My mistake.
I got tie out for my 12lb Chihuahua. I used it so he could sit out on the front porch. I previously used a thinner one for him but after two years of his pulling and tugging the wire broke. Even though he is only 12lbs, I would recommend this stronger tie out.
I bought this lead because it was the same brand as the previous one I purchased (more heavy-duty, but at the time it was the only one at the proper length) it's for dogs in the weight range my dog is. The line itself seems secure, but the clips are awful. The first few times I put her out in it, she got off of it without tugging on it too much.
We've gone through a number of cables for our Goldens and this one is working the best. It is strong enough to keep a 100lb Golden in the yard and light enough for a 6-month-old pup to drag around with ease. No rust, Easy to clip onto the collar. Doesn't seem to kink like some we've had. The cable coating hasn't split or cracked either. We're happy and would buy it again.
very disappointed, cable cracked after 2 months, soon as they crack, rust gets to cable. I donot recommend this brand.
Works well until we can fence in the yard. Lasts for 2 years and then had to buy it new. Can get knotted and the plastic will come off after being outside for all that time. But it’s reasonably priced so I just bought a new one.
