I have an 8 pound Maltese that is about ten years old. Yes, I spoil him and I am always looking for items that will keep him from boredom. I showed him how to take his paw to slide the casings over to retrieve the treat. Well, he came up with a better idea....his nose mostly. The very top on this one is a tad bit more challenging than the bottom sliders. He caught on very quickly, almost immediately how to retrieve the treats. I like this company has a variety of these interactive puzzle dog toys from easy to more advanced. I'll let him play with this one for a few months and then I will choose to move up to a little more difficult stage Frisco puzzle. This truly is fun not just for my dog but for me too. I enjoy watching him use his intelligence to retrieve the treats. It's made of a hard plastic that I don't think would break easily, not for the intended use. It has durable material on the underside so that it won't slide across the floor or carpet. It stays put even when the dog is trying to move the sliders. Easy to wash and keep clean too. I haven't tried it yet but I think it will be fun to place a little peanut butter in one of the openings. So, you can place a retrievable treat or more of a little food item like peanut butter. You just gotta get this!
I received this Frisco tiered cake interactive dog puzzle to try and review. The design is cute and interactive for my dog, yet built durable to withstand my power chewer dog. The toy/puzzle was easy to use and put dog treats in. My dog really enjoyed the puzzle and accessing the treats. Every time he moves one of the puzzle pieces to expose a treat. This was a great puzzle for a dog’s first time using a treat puzzle. my dog, absolutely loved it, and we will definitely be buying the next stage up on difficulty level. It was fun watching him figure it out.
My dogs enjoy puzzles and I thought this one was cute. Upon opening the box and getting ready to wash the puzzle, I realized the moving pieces don't come off (they do for most of the dog puzzles that I own). This made it more challenging to clean, but I washed it with warm water and dish soap. After it air dried, I filled with kibble and let my dogs work to solve it. They both enjoyed the puzzle and I appreciated the non-slip feet, but the puzzle still moved across the laminate flooring when my dogs pawed at the puzzle. Cleaning it afterwards was a hassle because I felt like I wasn't able to get all of their slobber out.
My Pomeranian is a senior dog that never experience a treat puzzle before. At first, it was a slow start with his dry treats. He picked up the scent, but not how to use the sliding doors. Then I set peanut butter in a few compartments and he caught on! The puzzle itself is great for his small snout; compartments are quarter sized and the doors slide easily. Rubber feet keep it still on the kitchen floor….no sliding! Easier to wipe out than wash; I drain it upside down to get the water out. Plus, the “cake” theme is a very happy design!
I have a 10 month old Golden Doodle and he really loves this toy. I didn't think he'd figure it out at first because he just barked at it and jumped on it but after about an hour of him ignoring it he ran over to it and worked one of the slides for a treat. He was so proud of himself and it was so entertaining to watch. Now we keep it filled during playtime and he has a lot of fun with it. Im really glad I got it. It is easy to operate and easy to clean. It has a nice size to it, my dog is 40lbs its perfect.
We were pretty hesitant on getting Bear a puzzle toy mostly because he’s never had one before so we chose the Easy level. Not only did he have so much fun with it, but we completely underestimated him. He’s been getting all his treats even with his little stubby pug nose. We’re totally ready for the next level.
This puzzle has my dog puzzled for sure! It keeps her entertained for quite a while but she always keeps trying until that last treat is gone. I think it’s a cute cake design and one of the larger dog puzzles I’ve seen. Seems like it will hold up for a good while. Overall I’m very pleased with it and seems my dog is too!
My old guy (9 yr old pit mix) had become pickier about eating and I wanted to try something new to get him interested again. He was able to figure out this toy pretty quickly, finding all the treats without help after 2 uses. I love that it keeps him busy and exercises his brain a little. The design is sturdy and easy to wash, and also really cute! Overall it's a hit. I think we'll try a more advanced toy sometime soon.
My dog absolutely fell in love with this toy. He has so much fun scooting it around to get his treats.and I love it because first he slows down on his treats and because it's makes him think and wor k for them
I received this for my dog. She is really not into it. I tried a couple of times but no go. I even used her favorite treats in there and nothing. I am going to give it to my son for his toy cats. I'm sure they'd enjoy it much better.
