As a cat owner and poop scooper with 51 years experience, this is my favorite box hands down! I have the black and off white ones. I actually have a series of death row boxes in my garage. I own 3 cats who all use the black one in the laundry room and a second box in my son's room for his cat Menace. Name says it all. 2 out 3 cats took to it right away and my simple cat who is also overweight could not use it until she lost a couple pounds. I love not having the litter scatter and I think it cuts down on odor except for Ellie who has super stinky poops. All of the cats are female and range in age from 1 to 8. I also use Targets UP scented clump litter which IMO uses less litter since I no longer have Panko covered turds, just cornmeal ones.
I bought this to replace a very expensive covered box, because my cat was constantly messing between the inner and outer boxes and frequently getting mess down the front opening and on the floor. This one has eliminated those problems, and it is generously sized. Even though she is elderly she has no issues getting in and out of it and it is easy to clean. Very happy with this.
I have a large male cat that sprays in the litter box and it is the perfect size for him. It’s slightly larger on the bottom than most other top entry litter boxes and it really does make a difference. My FAVORITE part is the lid! You simply lift up on one side to open and it empties the sand and stays upright when cleaning so you don’t need to figure out where to put the nasty lid. I have noticed that this design is best for minimizing litter tracking as well!! Currently writing this review after purchasing a second one because I love it so much:)
Sadly since Clevercat boxes are no longer made, this is the best high-pee-er box available. Hope Frisco’s designers see this review and improve it! Purchased the Frisco 23” Top Entry Cat Litter Box a few months ago. Pros: Big! Cons: Flimsy plastic. Handle holes. Hinge cutouts. Square top edges. My 2 foster cats popped off the lid jumping out the first day which startled them so they wouldn’t use it with lid, even after I left it out for 2 weeks next to their favorite Clevercat boxes that they also need lidless due to their size. They are big cats, 15+ pounds. I removed the Frisco lid and they are using it regularly. Removing the lid leaves two unsafe hinge cutouts that required covering with duct tape. It wobbles slightly when the cats use the edge to get in or out, so best wedged in a corner with plenty of litter in it. The square edges are not as comfortable on their paws or my hands when pulling out to clean. The handle holes in the sides allow occasional tiny bit of urine spray to escape - essentially you loose 2” of height on the sides. The handle holes and would be unnecessary if the plastic was thicker and had sturdier rolled edges like the Clevercat, or even the too-small Petmate. Get the gray. Black gets instantly dusty and and looks dirty, and is harder to accurately clean after the dust is rinsed off. It’s the best and biggest top entry box still available and I appreciate Chewy sells it. Its extra 3” in length compared to others (even Clevercat is only 20” long) makes all the difference for big cats.
Our two male kittens were tipping over their normal litter box! So I fixed that problem with this litter box!!! Absolutely love this litter box!! No issues what so ever!! I did purchase the white box since reading a review about the black box being to dark!! And I totally agree with that review but never even thought about it being too dark inside the box. Very happy with the white/light colored box!!! Definitely would buy a second one!!!
Between switching to pine litter and then switching to this I went from having a ton of mess and debris on my floor at all times to barely having any at all. This is a game changer
Had to switch to a top entry litter box because my dogs decided the litter box was a great place to snack, and the hooded box with a door did not stop them. I purchased a different one but it was too small for my maine coon mix. This one keeps the dogs out and is large enough.
I love this new litter box! My two cats kept missing my prior litter box every time they used it, leaving little presents on the floor. With this one, there is no missing the box. Tracked litter all over the floor is also a thing of the past. This box keeps everything contained and I couldn't be happier. I was a little worried by 20-lb chunk of a cat wouldn't be able to get in or out, but he's had no problem with it, and took to it immediately. I wish I had bought this box years ago.
I've only had this litter box up and being used for a couple weeks. So far I am very happy with it. If it continues to be good I will get another as I have multiple cats.
Absolutely exactly what I needed for my cat to use the litter box and keep the house clean without letting the dog eat it.
