At first our puppy just wanted to snuggle with this soft volcano, but once she learned how to get to the dinos, it quickly became a favorite toy. Each dino squeaks and is easy to hold. I taught her how to retrieve with these soft toys that are easy to toss and don't damage the cabinets. Sometimes she just likes to wrestle with the volcano itself. The openings are just the right size for her mouth and provide another option for a teething puppy.
Our dog loves extracting the dinos one by one or shaking the volcano really hard so a dino will fly out. He loves the dino squeaks and the volcano grunts. He does NOT try to extract the squeakers or grunters like he usually does with plush toys. Wish we had tried out one of these “puzzle” toys years ago— would have saved the lives of many plush toys over the years. It’s a terrific value for the price, and best of all, dino refills are available!!
Our dog loves this toy, and it's so cute to watch her pull them out one at a time. They wouldn't hold up under any type of aggressive chewing, but that's kind of the case for all plush toys anyway. She gets to play with them up until the point where she starts gnawing on them and then I take it away.
This was such a cute toy. Big dog was interested for 5 mins, little dog thought the dinosaurs inside were her babies. Maybe the fact that they all looked alike? Maybe because she’s from a backyard breeder? I don’t know but she is normally my shadow and sweet and mild. When I tried to take her to bed and away from her “babies”, she wanted to rip my face off. When the big dog came over to see what the issue was, she went after her too. Highly aggressive behavior over a toy. Never seen anything like it. This morning when we came down for breakfast, she was searching frantically for the “babies”. I will be re-homing this toy today.
My pit bull loves this toy. It took her a minute to figure it out, but now hide-and-seek toys are her favorites. She likes to take all the dinos out and then "kill" the volcano. At first she surprisingly didn't destroy the dinosaurs, but now most of them have their heads ripped off. She still really loves them though. So, if you have a big dog, it's still suitable as long as they won't eat the stuffing and don't mind playing with destroyed toys.
My dog is 28 lbs, pug/pit/boxer/schnauzer/other according to science. He only selectively destroys toys and this one lives. I think it's the right size for him. It's not much of a puzzle for him. He sometimes plays with just the volcano. You'll have tiny dinosaurs all around.
It started out a really great toy for my 6 month old pup but it turned out only half the Dino’s actually squeak which kills half the fun for my girl as she loves chomping on squeak toys til she can “kill” the squeaker. Would’ve been a 5 star if not for that. Maybe they could make a version where the dinos are crinkly instead of squeaky so it wouldn’t depend on the Dino groups having in tact squeaky parts when shipped. Disappointing that half the dinos have no squeak. She still has fun yanking them out of the volcano when we stuff the dinos back in tho.
When I saw how cute this was, I knew I needed it, just for me. I didn't even care if my dog would actually like it. The price seemed too good to be true for such a complex toy. Tbh I'm not sure if the price is a mistake or if it's made with forced labor, because the quality and cuteness are easily worth 5x more. All of the parts are well made and very soft plush. My 75 lb pittie does pibble nibbles, and his favorite things to nibble are very soft and velvety, so the texture is perfect. He loves pulling the tiny dinies out of their volcano and nibbling them. Sometimes I find him just surrounded with baby dinosaurs and it's the cutest thing ever. They do have squeakers, but he doesn't squeak them much. Soon, I'll need to throw these in the wash, but I'm not at all worried due to their durable construction. Trust me when I say your dog needs this toy in their life! Or anyone who loves volcanos and dinosaurs!
My young lab absolutely loves her dinos and volcano. However, if it is anything like the squirrels and stump toy, I expect this to be destroyed. She loves pulling the stuffies out of the toy, but loved just as much to shove her face into the squirrel's stump and rip it apart to get to the cardboard base. I expect the same fate for the volcano, BUT THIS TIME I am letting her have her play at getting all the dinos out, then I stuff them back into the volcano, give her another go at removing them, THEN I PUT THE TOY UP. I expect a longer life out the volcano, ha.
He is a rescue schnoodle with resource guarding and he loves these Dino's! I throw one and then I take another one out and squeak it, he runs back for that one and drops the first one, then I throw the second one, on and on it goes. He is learning I'm not taking anything from him I just giving him more toys. Now he is almost playing fetch.
