    Must-have for puppy life

By EinPDX on Apr 26, 2021

I have a new puppy and also an open floor plan house. There is no way to close her off from other areas, and it's just too much space for a puppy, too much mischief that she can get into. A wire pen like this is an absolute necessity if you've got ANY space that you'd like to close off from your dog I have a new puppy and also an open floor plan house. A wire pen like this is an absolute necessity if you've got ANY space that you'd like to close off from your dog that can't be blocked by a doorway. I bought 30" tall of this one and the Midwest version, they are very comparable, I can't really tell a difference. I've used one to bisect my house and another to block off planters on the deck. They are just barely short enough that a 5'3" person (me) can step over them without using the step-through gate, but tall enough to stop both Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, although my adult girl could probably leap it if she really wanted to. The pen comes with stakes for if you're putting it in the grass. My only wish for improving this product is that I wish it also came with a feet option for people like me who want to spread it out and use it as a fence. It gets very unstable as it gets straighter--you always have to have parts of it bent so it will stand on its own. I also wish it had rubber feet on the bottom to prevent it from moving so easily on hardwood/tile floors. the mischievous puppy has started to figure out that she can move this fence with her nose... … more

    Gets the job done!

I bought two of these to connect together to create a safe play area for my border collie puppies. They love it and so do I, a little peace of mind that they are enjoying the sun while I do house chores. I only gave it 3 stars simply because this will totally not stand up to a larger dog. My pups are I bought two of these to connect together to create a safe play area for my border collie puppies. They love it and so do I, a little peace of mind that they are enjoying the sun while I do house chores. I only gave it 3 stars simply because this will totally not stand up to a larger dog. My pups are both under 10lbs, it contains them well but even properly staked, and set up it will not hold up to a dog who's excited because there's a squirrel....that dog will be able to knock the fence down with no problem at all. So over all, I absolutely reccomend this for puppy owners, those with very very gentle dogs, perhaps older dogs, or dogs who aren't the jumping type....but if you buy this thinking you'll be able to contain an excited boxer you may be dissapointed. But once my puppies don't need this I am going to repurpose it for my sulcata tortiose to enjoy some sunshine outdoors, great product I just don't think it will hold up well to the average large breed. … more
