Sorta OKAY
The picture makes this gate look a bit better than it is in person. It seems constructed well enough and has many of the lawyer tags of warning in place, but the wood looks like plastic, which is a shame. If you call it wood, why would it not look like wood?
Best option out there!
Don’t be fooled by the negative reviews! Yes the gate comes with a big gap in the latching mechanism; this is done on purpose! It is a tension mounted gate so of course it is engineered to take this into account. As basic as this sounds mount it straight and mount level and you won’t go wrong. The manufacturer has taken all aspects of installation into account and provides a “spanner” to make micro adjustments and installation a crazy-easy undertaking. The self closing latch works a charm once you make the necessary micro adjustments. Aside from being more aesthetically pleasing than other gates it is also far more reasonably priced. If I could give it six stars I would!
Great gate
We bought this gate to contain our miniature schnauzer puppy. It works perfectly for our 51 inch space with the extenders. Very easy to install and the operation is very practical and easy. The gate will stay open if desired. It opens and closes easily with one hand. There is even an extra latch at the bottom if grandkids are over and have figured out the top closure. It is attractive and does not detract from our decor as it is in a main room of the house. Very happy with this sturdy snd attractive gate.
Sizing is nonsense
Can't say I've ever seen a product that includes extensions but doesn't cover the full range of lengths. Space lengths of 32-37, 40-42, 44-45, and 47-49 inches will not work with this product, and other ranges just outside will not be as snug. Avoid like the plague.
The best gate
I love the look! We have a mini Cockapoo that is an escape artist! We tried retractable gates, to much room for her to escape when we go through. With the gate we can come & go without her getting out.
Convenient!
As new home owners and fur parents, we needed something to keep our new puppy from going down the hall and hiding accidents. The baby gate we had up was getting knocked over constantly and my husband and I had been having to climb over it or walk all the way around the house. This gate is so wonderful! Even without mounting to the wall it has stayed up wonderfully. The feature to open the gate has made our lives so much easier and the color looks great and almost like it has always been a part of the house. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Great at first, but not working properly now
We have had this gate for a little over a month. It was great up until about 2 weeks ago when the gate seems to droop and doesn't automatically latch. We need to lift it up a little and put it in place in order to lock it. I'll be contacting chewy to see if there is a fix or replacement parts available.
A Strangely Sized Product
This is a beautiful pet gate/barrier at an attractive price. The downside is that no configuration combo works in our hallway. I have three different widths in the hallway to work with and not one of the many combinations (with three different extensions there are at least eight possible configurations) works. It is for future use - but purchased for an immediate need - so it is yet to be determined if the gate will actually work based on why it was purchased. Having the multiple configurations is great - but with no adjustments of these configurations outside the screw-out wall connections, I am concerned that this a a great product that does not solve the problem it was designed for. Swing and a miss!
Sad and very disappointed
The gate is beautiful. Easy to install. But it fell apart. We fixed it. But it kept falling apart. Not sure if this is a manufacturer error or not. I don't want my money back. I am in desperate need for a working gate no smaller than this one. I don't have the box to send it back. Chewy help!!
Puppy gate
Needed a gate for my 4month pittie loved the style of this gate when it got here but up well needless to say after looking at only 8 reviews I shouldn't have gotten it the latch didn't plus the measurements for this gate even with the extension way off. So waiting on another gate that was supposed to be here already so fingers crossed on this one.
