I wasn’t impressed, the directions were very short and didn’t help at all. I’m still not even sure it’s put together correctly. We had to bend pieces to get them together. The assembly alone would have made me throw it back in the box and ship it back. Next time I will find a different idea to keep my Great Dane confined. This is horrible to put together, even for handy people.
Difficult to assemble
I have a 150 pound Cane Corso so I opted to get this XXL kennel thinking it would give him plenty of room. The kennel is not necessarily bigger, it is really tall so that is where you’ll benefit from the XXL size which is disappointing for me especially since this wasn’t a cheap purchase. The assembly was very difficult because a couple of the sides were bent (maybe shipping damage?) just enough to where it wouldn’t hold the right position to be able to lock it. Several zip ties later we made it work. Not perfect like usual.
Looked for awhile for larger crate... we had the 48" one but when we adopted a new (large) dog from a sanctuary who wanted to sleep with our Golden, it was time for more space.. this crate is SUBSTANTIALLY heavier than the 48" one; & it comes in separate sections, unlike the 48" which folds onto itself.. it is wider & longer which I knew... it is a LOT taller! Having said all that, I got my brother's 2 friends who put it together for me and it is just PERFECT! Dogs just love it and so...so do I!
So to start, I got the dog crate a couple days late. I decide to not worry and continued waiting. When it arrives I noticed the box was in was clearly damaged and taped over a bunch a bunch so It wouldn't fall apart. Apon assembling my crate I had to bend a lot of the "heavy duty" Metal bars back into place so I couldn't put it together. If I didn't fix it myself, I would have received a broken item in a box that I paid $150 for. Not okay. Hope this review helps prevent this from happening to anyone else...
When you need the biggest kennel there is
The biggest kennel you've ever seen! Perfect size for our growing 7 month old Great Dane. Nice large doorway allows my sensitive 100+ pound scaredy-cat to enter without having to duck under the top lip. It's a heavy kennel not easily moved by one person. After assembling we did add some zip ties to the corners and joints to sturdy it up. Well worth the price. Fast shipping as always.
Huge and Great Dane approved
It is huge and perfect for my Great Dane. I assembled it myself with the help of a couple of chairs to hold the sides up, but otherwise easy to put together. The Dane has more than enough room to stand and move around. Would recommend.
it will work
It an all right kennel. We had to bend some of the wires back into place though. I also am not sure how well it would hold up if you have dog that will shake the cage a lot.
We have two Great Danes and this fits them perfectly and gives them enough room to sleep and sit. Easy to put together. Durable. This is our second one and haven't been disappointed.
We ordered 2 kennels, the first one was in great shape and easy to put together, the one we received today, was a task. The bars was all bent and we had to bend them to the right shape for the kennel to be put together. Overall everything we have ordered from chewy has been perfect except this kennel.
Those crate is HUGE and is pretty good (gets the job done, however, when it delivered some of the hooks that lock the sides and walls together were pinched shut and I had to use pliers to bend then put to open them. Also one of the four posts for corners were too short. I mean, my pups not a Houdini so it shouldn't be an issue but be warned if yours is... Otherwise, it had been a good purchase for us.
