How often do I need to use FRONTLINE® Spray?

FRONTLINE® Spray kills fleas, ticks, and chewing lice for at least 30 days.

Why might I see fleas and ticks on my cat or dog after treatment?

You are likely seeing new fleas and ticks. FRONTLINE® Spray is highly effective at killing fleas and ticks after they come in contact with the treated pet. If you are fighting a home flea infestation, it is highly likely that existing fleas will continue to emerge from the environment for 2-3 months or more, depending on environmental factors. Regular use of FRONTLINE® Spray will stop the infestation by killing these new fleas before they can reproduce.

Do I need to use other flea & tick treatments while using FRONTLINE® Spray?

No, FRONTLINE® Spray is an effective treatment against fleas and ticks that lasts for 30 days. Applied monthly, you do not need to use any other treatments while using FRONTLINE® Spray.

Do I need to treat my cat or dog for fleas and ticks even in colder months?

Yes, although the likelihood of your cat or dog being affected by fleas and ticks decreases in the winter months, they can still pose a threat to your pet. Therefore, it’s important to keep protecting your cat or dog throughout the year.

My cat or dog doesn’t go outside much, do I still need to treat them for fleas and ticks?

Yes, even ‘indoor-only’ cats or dogs can become exposed to fleas. Indoor-only dogs still spend time outdoors whether it be to go on a walk or just going to the bathroom outside. Your pet could also be exposed if an untreated cat or dog visits your home or if you or a friend brings in “hitchhiker” fleas on shoes or clothing.

FRONTLINE® Spray is approved for use for cats and dogs and puppies and kittens 8 weeks of age or older. What are the signs of fleas on my cat or dog?

Apart from seeing fleas on your cat or dog or in your home, other signs that your cat or dog might have fleas include increased itching, scratching, licking, nibbling and over-grooming. You may also see small dark red or black specks (flea dirt) on your cat or dog’s skin, bedding or on furniture.

How do cats or dogs pick up fleas?

Cats and dogs can pick up fleas from anywhere untreated pets and wildlife have been—indoors or outdoors. Fleas on these animals lay eggs, which fall off into the environment and develop into young adult fleas ready to jump onto your cat or dog.
