Plus, it’s simple to apply, and designed to be waterproof and last for one month. Enjoy walks and hikes with your canine companion without worrying about nasty pests.

Key Benefits
  • Formulated with three active ingredients to help disrupt the flea cycle.
  • Helps kill adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, chewing lice, and ticks.
  • Helps kill flea eggs and flea larvae to help inhibit future infestations.
  • Simple to apply.
  • Designed for a waterproof protection.

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

*Remove one applicator tube from the package and hold in an upright position pointed away from your face. *Twist dispensing tip clockwise about 1/2 turn while pushing down to break the tube's seal. Do not remove the dispensing tip. Position the dispending tip on the dog's back between the shoulder blades. *Use the dispensing tip of the tube to part the dog's hair so that the product will be applied at skin level. *Begin squeezing out the contents of the tube to form a stripe as you move from the shoulder blades along the dog's back to the base of the tail. *Repeat every month.

Where is this product sourced from?

We source all our products from manufacturer approved distributors or directly from the manufacturers. Chewy takes pride in ensuring that our furry friends’ wellbeing is always our top priority. We have worked hard to partner with all of the manufactures to deliver 100% authentic products

Where do these new fleas come from?

Numerous hosts (including feral cats, opossums, raccoons, and other wildlife species) leave behind flea eggs wherever they go, including your yard. These outdoor flea infestations are often the primary source of the fleas that your pets pick up. Outdoors, developing flea stages can be found in areas protected from sunlight, so some of their favorite places include:

  • Sheds
  • Garages
  • Under porches or decks

How long will a flea infestation in the home last?

Flea eggs, larvae, and pupae in the environment continue to develop and emerge as new fleas (even after your pet has been treated with a flea control product). It can take weeks to months for this already established infestation to be controlled.

What else can I do to reduce the flea population in my home?

Regular use of an appropriate Frontline Gold brand product on your pet may reduce flea infestations in the home. For best results, use Frontline Gold brand products as part of a comprehensive flea treatment plan, which includes coordinated treatment of the home, yard and pet. Vacuum floors, carpets and furniture – especially in areas where an infested pet has spent a lot of time, because that is often where many flea eggs will be found. Wash pet bedding and other fabrics in hot water.

Why do I still see fleas on my pet after applying Frontline Gold?

There are two main reasons:

  • Fleas can jump onto your pet at any time (see where do new fleas come from), and these are not killed instantly.
  • Frontline Gold brand products are designed to kill any new fleas quickly and prevent their ability to reproduce. Frontline Gold kills fleas by overstimulating the flea nervous system, and hyperexcited fleas may move to the top of the haircoat before they die. So seeing fleas on top of the haircoat after applying Frontline Gold can be an indication that the product is working.

How does Frontline Gold for Dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats work?

After being applied, Frontline Gold for Dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats spreads all over the treated animal’s body and is stored in the sebaceous glands under the surface of the skin. From these glands, it is continually wicked through the hair follicles onto the skin and haircoat for a month or more.

Should I apply Frontline Gold for Dogs to ALL the dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats to ALL the cats in my household, even if they are indoor-only?

Absolutely. If you don’t treat every dog and cat, the untreated pets can continue to harbor fleas that will lay eggs, preventing the infestation from being cleared. Even if the dog or cat never goes outdoors, people may bring fleas into the home.

How often should I apply Frontline Gold brand products to my pets?

For continuous protection, apply an appropriate Frontline Gold brand product every 30 days as directed. Consistency is key.

Can I bathe my pet while using Frontline Gold?

Yes. Frontline Gold brand products remain effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. You may bathe your pet 48 hours after application. ONLY use a shampoo formulated for your pet and recommended by your veterinarian.

Great protection for a working retriever

By Waterproof on Jan 18, 2021

Our dog is a 60 lb female working labrador. She is out in tick infested areas daily. She also swims about 300 days a year. Frontline gold keeps her completely free of ticks. I think the ticks climb off when they realize she is coated. Since the active ingredient is topical, the ticks don’t need to bite the dog for the Frontline to be effective.

    Quick and Easy

By SurryMomma on Dec 15, 2020

I am reviewing the process of ordering. I was hesitant to buy this product through Chewy because the reviews said it was difficult to get the vet approval and took too long- likes weeks. I called my vet to let them know the order was placed and within a couple days of placing the order, Chewy got the approval from my Vet and they were shipped- arrived within a week. Very easy in my opinion! And price was cheaper than my vet so I will continue to purchase through Chewy.

Best Non-Chewable Flea and Tick Option

    By Jill29 on Oct 23, 2020

I used to use the original Frontline Plus and then went to the Nexgard chewable tablet for flea and tick treatment. My dog recently had a seizure so the safest medication is the Frontline product. My vet recommended Frontline Gold. I was very pleased with the product. It was very easy to put on and not as greasy as the old original Frontline I used years ago.

    Works well!

By Manon on Oct 16, 2020

Frontline GOLD works much better than regular Frontline. It won’t repel fleas/ticks, but it will definitely kill them. My dogs have never had a flea infestation and I never find fleas on them. I have found a tick or two, but they were dead and not engorged. I only use it once, every 45 days, because I don’t like putting toxins on my pets.

    Very good product

By sandorf on Nov 7, 2020

Have been using Frontline for a while now on my Dobie and have not had to worry about fleas or ticks. It does the job. Love having orders shipped to the house instead of having to go to Vet. office. to purchase.

    Love Frontline Gold!

By Sammie on Aug 28, 2020

This is a great product! So much better than the frontline plus. This tube on the gold has a much better design, it is easier to apply, and doesn’t smell bad or leave as greasy of a residue as the frontline plus. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews saying this doesn’t work? I apply it to my dogs every month and they have never once had a flea problem and they are constantly outside playing in the summer. If you use it properly, which you should be using it as a preventative so your dog doesn’t get fleas in the first place, it works great and it has prevented both of my dogs from ever getting fleas.

    Will purchase again

By Nevar on Aug 28, 2020

This item arrived damaged and Chewy was quick to make things right. Thanks to outstanding customer service! I look forward to reviewing this Gold line after a few months. Im going to try and do the every three month method. Winston is 44 lbs so I chose the above weight group so I dont want to over do it...and since we are now out of Tick season we wont need the monthly applications. He does seem itchy after 5 weeks but with no visible fleas I will sometimes put the Thundervest on him to calm him. Thanks Again Chewy! Winston is set for the season!

    By Alicia60103 on Nov 9, 2020

Used it religiously and all of my animals ended up with fleas within 2 months. I gave them flea baths and switched to vectra. I haven't had a problem since I switched back.

Works but makes my dog stink!

By LudasMom on Sep 5, 2020

It works on feas and ticks, but it took me a couple of applications to realize that it was frontline that was making my dog stink! Starts a couple hours after application and lasts about 2 weeks. I need to try something else!

    Horrible Odor

By Charlie on Jul 13, 2020

Have always used Frontline and wanted to try there newest product, I was very disappointed. I gave my pup a bath and then an blow dry a few hours later I applied his monthly flea medicine to discover this specific product SMELLS HORRIBLE . After a few hours I could not take the foil smell any longer and had to rewash and blow dry my dog. Still searching for a better flea product that dose not have such a strong odor.
