Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 90 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Is there an expiration date on these treatment packs?
Answer by ChewyAug 29, 2018
This product does not have an expiration date. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, it will remain ready for use.

Will this kill ticks that are already on my cat?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2019
Once applied, FRONTLINE Plus kills ticks for at least one month. A once monthly application is recommended where tick control is needed. Kills all life stages of ticks (larva, nymph and adult).

the Frontline Gold has a 3rd ingredient that kills the eggs, (pyriproxyfen) but Frontline plus also kills eggs?? so what makes this specific ingredient (pyriproxyfen)better if both products kill the eggs?
Answer by ChewyDec 02, 2020
While Frontline Plus and Frontline Gold treat adult fleas in the exact same way, the addition of pyriproxyfen allows Frontline Gold to kill flea eggs and larvae more effectively than Frontline Plus. Frontline Plus can begin killing these pests 4 hours after application, and Frontline Gold may begin killing them as quickly as 30 minutes after application.

How often should I give my kitten to use this product?
Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2019
One treatment will last 30 days. This treatment should only be used on cats and kittens 8 weeks or older and over 1.5 pounds.

I never had any problem with this product

I used this product on my cats and kittens when they got old enough .it took care of the fleas .never had they gotten any ticks. But if you get and Infestation of fleas in your house and in your cats first you use the capstar that kills all the adult fleas . Then you put the Frontline on or one of them you choice . I have put the advantage on my cats to not at same time if you going to change your cat flea treatment you have to give them a bath and wait three days that what my vet said. Even if it just a flea collar. So if I had Frontline on them and I want to put advantage on them I'd have to give my cats a bath with soap and water. The vet says wait 3 days. It be best to call your vet before you put so e thing in your cat and you only put one dose on them not two. If the kitten you don't know how much they weigh you need to take your cat to the vet. See if it is right for a kitten . But you only put one tube in the cat 1 a month .. if your not sure call the vet first . I had to have vet put it on my one cat it ran down his side and he licked it .so then I had to wash his mouth out vet said believe it wasn't want I wanted to do but I did it and no my cat didn't like it and after that the vet made me bring him in to get it put in him . Other wise nothing happen to any of them. They are not supposed to lick it . Or get it in there mouths.

Cat reaction

One of my cats had an immediate reaction to this product. I have used this before with no problems. Called the company and will return and choose the flea control that Bayer produces. I called the company itself and they had no answers but took the lot number for a report.

Non-greasy and no squirmy

Other topical flea/tick treatments have caused temporary skin reactions on my cat. The first time it happened, I was so worried I called animal poison control because my cat was almost literally bouncing off the walls. I was told these products can sometimes cause tingling sensations that freak the cat out. This product has not done that, so that’s a win.

No flea problems ever.

Don't like the greasy spot on kitty's back neck, but the protection works. Itching stops within a short time and I don't get flea bites from petting my cat. Never see any ticks. She is an indoor cat but mingles with the dogs. And on a rare occasion, will run out the door but come back within an hour. So, I never need to worry about her bringing home unwanted bugs while using Frontline. It is a little pricey, but I feel like it is necessary.

Fleas are evolving, but the formula hasn’t!

Bought a 6 month supply at a wholesale retailer and wanted to come here with a warning from my vet. PNW flea populations are growing immunity to this formula because it has been around for so long. Been treating my cats for 3 months and while I do believe it has kept it under relative control and I had yet to see any fleas myself (hence 2 stars instead of 1), both my cats are still covered in miliary dermatitis and the vets just found fleas on both today. I’m not happy at all. Going to switch to Revolution at my vet’s recommendation.

didn't work

This didn't work on my cat. He has really thick fur, but I think we got a good application on his skin. Unfortunately, he still has a lot of fleas. We'll wait a month and try again, but this is disappointing.

Damaged box

This was in the box where all the heavy stuff was thrown on it. I would recommend for future shipments to put in a small cardboard box so it does not get damaged during shipment. Box was opened but the individual packs were fine.

I have 4 cats, one with a flea allergy

I adopted two outside cats covered in fleas, used this, and within hours most of the fleas were dead. I have 4 cats, one of which has a flea allergy. We’ve been using this medicine for over 5 months now (before we used Revolution) and it seems to be doing the job- no allergy flare up or flea dirt. Would recommend.

Have Been Using 3 Months - Doesn’t work

I have 2 indoor cats that I’ve had for 6 years and for some reason this year they both got fleas which they’ve never had. I have been using this on both cats for 3 months and even after this, cleaning, spraying the house, flea baths, etc they have live fleas. Giving cats a bath is not enjoyable I need something that actually works.

Doesnt work

Followed instructions to a T. Waited 24 hours for translocation a week later my cat still has fleas. Number 1 Scam, not number 1 Flea treatment.
