Description

Frontline Plus doesn’t just kill adult fleas and ticks but also slays the next generation of flea eggs and larvae. Plus, it works non-stop for 30 days on dogs. Frontline Plus has 2 tough killing ingredients. The 1st, fipronil, kills adult fleas and ticks. The 2nd, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to kill all month long. Plus, it breaks the flea life cycle. By also destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Plus gives you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet. Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs.

Key Benefits

  • Contains fipronil to kill existing flea and tick infestations. It also kills fleas before they lay eggs, effectively preventing reinfestation for 30 days

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

FRONTLINE Plus has 2 secret weapons: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Once FRONTLINE Plus is applied, this combo stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then self-distributes continuously for 1 month to your pet's hair and skin through the hair follicles. Fleas or ticks that come in contact with your pet are dead meat.

How long does it take for FRONTLINE Plus to kill fleas?

In a study, FRONTLINE Plus began killing fleas 4 hours after application.1 Another study showed that within 12 hours, Frontline Plus killed 100% of fleas.2

Do fleas and ticks have to bite my pet for FRONTLINE Plus to work?

No. FRONTLINE Plus kills fleas and ticks through contact with your pet's haircoat. No biting necessary.

Why am I seeing more fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE Plus?

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's haircoat as they die. So if you start seeing more fleas after treating your pet, consider it a victory for the killing force.

After using FRONTLINE Plus, I still see fleas in my home. Why?

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using FRONTLINE Plus. Consecutive monthly applications of FRONTLINE Plus will assist with the elimination of an indoor flea life cycle. In some geographical regions in the United States, it may be required to use the product year-round.

Does FRONTLINE Plus have an expiration date?

No. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, FRONTLINE Plus will remain ready for battle.

How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?

FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application.

Can I use it if my pet is on medication?

Before using FRONTLINE Plus, ask your vet about possible interactions with any medications your dog is taking.

Can I use FRONTLINE Plus if I have already applied another flea and tick control product?

Before using, consult your veterinarian.

Does FRONTLINE Plus kill anything else besides fleas and ticks?

You bet. FRONTLINE Plus also kills chewing lice.

Can FRONTLINE Plus be used on pets other than dogs and cats?

No. FRONTLINE Plus should be used on dogs and cats only. There are specific products based on what kind of pet you have and how much it weighs. Be sure to use the right product for your pet.

Can I apply it more than once a month?

Don't reapply FRONTLINE Plus before the month is through. It keeps working for a full 30 days.

How old does my pet need to be in order to have FRONTLINE Plus applied?

At 8 weeks your pet can start benefiting from the power of FRONTLINE Plus.

Its better than nothing but its not the best in my opinion not worth the $70 bucks but its good for a short term solution if you cant stand fleas its not water proof so make sure you give your dog a bath right before because as soon as you wash your dog it will start wearing off quickly and it definantly doesnt provide a month of treatment maybe two weeks thats about it then I notice the fleas start coming back my dogs are inside dogs and my hubby is allergic to flea bites so weve tried everything its better than the cheaper stuff and most shampoos the only thing that Ive heard is better is nex guard chewables but I guess you have to get a vet prescription for that so thats what Im going to do Its better than nothing but its not the best in my opinion not worth the $70 bucks but its good for a short term solution if you cant stand fleas its not water proof so make sure you give your dog a bath right before because as soon as you wash your dog it will start wearing off quickly and it definantly doesnt provide a month of treatment maybe two weeks thats about it then I notice the fleas start coming back my dogs are inside dogs and my hubby is allergic to flea bites so weve tried everything its better than the cheaper stuff and most shampoos the only thing that Ive heard is better is nex guard chewables but I guess you have to get a vet prescription for that so thats what Im going to do but on the upside chewy is cheaper than most places and it was free two day shipping this is my third time I believe ordering various things from them to try them out and I havent really been dissapointed yet … more

  • So upsetting!

    By on

I bought this about a month ago in anticipation of my dog becoming over 45 pounds. She was on an oral medication for puppies 25 pounds to 45 pounds. She is now 53 pounds and we gave her the first of her topical treatment of Frontline Plus a week ago. A couple days ago, we found fleas on her. This was a colossal waste of money and I would not recommend using Frontline Plus in Texas. We will continue going to the vet and getting oral medication until we can find a better, cheaper way to prevent fleas, ticks, etc. on Chewy. I wasted $60 on Frontline Plus and lost $250 in a vet visit, cleaning/killing fleas, and a pill for a month. :(

  • Always happy with Chewy

    By on

I have ordered numerous times from Chewy. I am always happy with my purchases and the delivery time. The price on the Frontline through Chewy was better than I have found anywhere. We live in the country and Frontline has always performed very well to keep fleas and ticks at bay.

  • Didn't do squat.

I purchased this and put it on my dog amid a heavy flea infestation last month. While I'm aware that the flea life cycle runs about a month and we should see a few rebounds while we continue to vacuum, wash bedclothes and bathe the animals, Frontline seemingly had absolutely no effect even in combination with all of those things. I'm not quick to treat anyone I care for (human or other creatures alike) with toxic pharmaceuticals and I'm disgusted to have exposed everyone in my house to this compound of harmful chemicals only to see no use in it. I will not be purchasing this again, but instead head off an infestation next year by treating my yard with nematodes and regular treatments of my home I purchased this and put it on my dog amid a heavy flea infestation last month. • Does NOT work, not for even a day.

    By on

We have been struggling with fleas on our 2 dogs for months. The Frontline does nothing... even a few days after applying, using a comb I can find many live fleas thriving on them. In exasperation I asked my vet and she said Frontline hasn't worked for years because fleas have developed immunity and they don't even carry it in their office anymore. She turned me towards Bravecto instead. It just stinks that I still have a few tubes of Frontline left from my last order that will just be thrown away now. I've wasted so much money on this stuff. Bravecto is a chewable, kills fleas for 3 months, seems to work well, and is overall cheaper than Frontline. I'll never use Frontline again.

  • Frontline works, Chewy is phenomenal

    By on

Frontline does it's job. Haven't had a flea problem. I do treatments every 5 weeks instead of 4 just because it's expensive and I have 6 frontline users. Fleas and ticks are a high problem around here (mid-Missouri). Gotten those darn fleas twice so far, not an infestation, but just a few they picked up from the dog park (I'm assuming). But frontline has worked to rid them of those tiny beasts. Chewy is by far the most amazing company ever, and I refer everyone I know to them. I inject myself into conversations when people talk about ordering their pet supplies online just to convince them of Chewy's greatness.

  • Did not work

    By on

Chewy is amazing but Frontline Plus did not work. I have three dogs all around the same size. I have not had flees in my new house in the three years we have been there. I noticed my dogs itching, I looked them over I found one flee on one of the three, but I know where there is one there's more. So I ordered Front Line Plus put it on my dogs hoping to ease the itch. It's been 2 weeks and they are still itching and now they all have more flees. Not happy with Front Line. Should have paid the extra for Advantage.

  • Go away bugs

This helped to keep the flea and ticks off our dogs all summer. They were awful here this year but I used a monthly dose on each of our dogs and we had very little problems. The only downfall was the packaging was difficult to handle.

  • Flea and tick med diss appointment

    By on

I have been a tried and true Frontline fan for I would guess around 20ish years. The past year or so the Frontline plus just isn't getting the job done. We use it year round and still I see fleas. It is beyond frustrating. Frontline Gold is like $30.00 per box more per fur baby. That is ridiculous to me. Either your product works or pull it off the market and why mark up your new product that is hopefully doing what your old one should have all along?? Are you going to refund unhappy customer for all the money spent to date? Doubt it.
