THIS IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY I HAVE PURCHASED AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. UNIT JUST QUIT WORKING ONE DAY. THEY SAID "SORRY". BUY OUR NEW ONE.
Back in 2021 I wrote how my furbo came used. Chewy did an awesome job and helped me out. Kept forgetting to update my review, but better late than never. Thank you chewy, awesome camera <3
We got 2 of these as supplemental surveillance devices for our pups. They learned to respond to the squeaks very quickly, although it's disappointing whenever the launcher fails to shoot the treats far enough or at all. It's very "picky" in what treats work, so your choices may be limited... it can't be too soft, have any chance of clumping up at all, too heavy, or too light. Still, it's overall OK value since the camera and speaker are of higher quality than competitors'. The app is also pretty slick, although it does feel like they push their subscription services a bit too hard even after the relatively expensive device purchase.
Overall, it’s a great idea but after using it for 2 month, I have some criticisms. 1. You have to pay a monthly subscription in order to get the full effect of the item (I thought it was included!) 2. It catches every person who walks by. Which is great, except when I have it at my parents house so I can see my pup when I’m at work and I don’t want to see my parents every 15 seconds. I turned off the alert for this but it still records them. There’s no way to turn that off (other than turning off the device). 3. If you have other animals in the house (like cats), the camera catches them and alerts you that your dog is active (dogs nowhere in the area). I emailed them because they advertise this as a “pet camera” but it’s only adhered to dogs. I like that I can see my animals and talk to them. Throwing my pup treats is also fun!! If these 3 things were fixed, it’d be a 5 star product!
I bought this because I was away from home for 4 months and wanted to stay connected to my pupper. It confused him and sent him wondering all over looking for me and causing him to chew thru doors looking for me. Once he realized it was just treats he went back into depression until I could return home. This year I was again called away unexpectedly for several weeks and thought we would turn on furbo and guess what we could not even get connected even though one of us was at home and I still can't get connected since being home! Piece of junk!
I’ve only used this once so far but it was really helpful. I was gone for over an hour for the first time with my 9 month old puppy. It was nice to be able to talk to my dog when away from him and see what he was doing. The sounds the treat dispenser makes scares him a bit though. He also doesn’t like when the treats fly out at him. When I was watching him he was crying at the front door so being able to talk to him was amazing. He seemed to calm down and laid on the couch. The camera quality isn’t perfect the farther away you go and it does get glitchy and is a few seconds slower than real time but it’s pretty good for the price and really helped me with my anxiety with leaving my dog home alone. The treat dispenser does need some improvements with how it shoots out and the sound. Overall I am happy I spent the money on this and I hope that it keeps working well and keeps helping me with leaving my 9 month old dog home alone.
I bought this on a coworker's recommendation and unfortunately, my dog won't use it when I'm not around. He was completely unwilling to use it when I first got it and after a couple months of training, he has learned to use it when I'm around but still avoids it when I'm not home.
My furbo account was hacked in the middle of the night. My family woke up to someone screaming into the furbo and watching us. We thought someone had broken into the house! When I contacted furbo to complain they reassured me my information was secure, yet two days later they reached out to tell me that my personal info may have been leaked. Best part about all of this? They refused to refund me, told me they would keep in contact with me about the issue, and then I never heard back from them. Terrible company with a huge invasion of privacy.
The Furbo works as described. The camera shows the room clearly in wide angle. I use a small kibble for the "treat" so quite a bit is dispensed each time. Some kibble drops out of the hole so you end up with a small amount of kibble under the dispenser hole. But, everything works as described in the item information.
It looks great, it tosses treats after 3 plus days setting up, getting rid of 5ghz broadcast on router. Plus you have to keep within 5 feet of your router. In most cases Furbo, people have their routers in a closet/basement/offices not in a living room where your dog will actually be. It keeps on disconnecting everywhere else in my smart home. It doesn't connect to google mesh wifi. I have wifi dongles dating back 20 years ago that work better than this thing. Get something else.
