Can use this on my border Collie ?

This brush is ideal for short and medium coats. If your Border Collie's coat is longer, the FURminator Long Hair deShedding Edge For Dogs is recommended.
I have a Black Lab, American Staffordshire Terrier Mix! His hair is very straight about an inch & a quarter long! Will this brush work for his coat?

Surprisingly Good

I was a bit disappointed to realize that the brush was hard bristles. I had hoped for a soft rubber brush for our Labs undercoat. I figured I should try it anyway although I didn’t have high expectations. I was very surprised at the amount of hair that was coming off with each brushing. Enough that we decided brushing out doors might be necessary. In essence it does work. I wish the brush did a better job at containing the fur so that it didn’t go everywhere instead of on the brush like most rubber brushes would. And, I do wish it were a little bit softer. It might take a little conditioning to get your dog comfortable with it. We will continue to work with it.. just outdoors.

Does not work as well as hoped

I thought this would work like a curry comb and help get lots of hair off of my Doberman, but it does not. The rubber is very hard and I feel like I need to be careful to not irritate her skin when I am using it

Dogs love it but small

My dog loves this brush and it is more effective helping with spring shedding than a traditional bristle brush. The brush itself is not large, so if you have big hands, they will not fit under the hand strap.

Unit too small

This unit is too small for my hand and the brushing side does not get into the fur. Very disappointed.

My dog loves this!!

My dog, Charlie loves this Brush! with him being a chow mix I thought that the short bristles wouldn’t be long enough for his fur but when we first used the comb it got off so much loose hair and dirt! after brushing him on a nightly basis for one week he has stopped scratching, biting and digging at his skin. His coat looks shinier and healthier and he’s super happy with our nightly brushing sessions and even nudges me, when it’s time for him to be brushed he absolutely loves the time spent together.

POINTLESS

Does virtually nothing on a truly short-haired dog except serve as a chew toy. Even then, I get it away from her and brush. She loves the feel, but it really sucks at actually bringing up the loose hairs and reducing.

Where Does The Hair Go?

I have a boxer. I never really knew that he needed brushing until I decided to brush him with my cat brush and holy cow. Yep. He needed it. I wanted something with plastic combs instead of metal since he's got such soft skin. So I landed here. It's a nice massage for him and he likes that. The clean up is HORRIBLE! Hardly any of the hair sticks to the combs and I have to pile it down his leg. I wish the clean up was better.
