I have a cat and a dog, both rather short haired. Can I buy one Furminator and use it on both?
Answer by ChewyFeb 23, 2018
The only difference between the cat and dog grooming tools are the size (width) of the grooming edge. They are otherwise the same, so there is no problem using a dog grooming tool on a cat, or vice versa.

I have brushed my dog the last 3 days. She seems to like being brushed but she is young and only sits still for 10minutes before she is ready to play. Seems like she is shedding more than before. Some reviews said the spend and hour brushing their dog, should I just keep at it?
Answer by ChewyNov 17, 2017
It's recommended to use the FURminator deShedding Tool 1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes each session. You may need to use the deShedding tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons. For an energetic pup, it may be more difficult to keep their attention for an extended time period so you may brush when you can.

I ordered both the long hair and the short hair, how do you tell the difference once they are out of the package?
Answer by ChewyAug 23, 2018
The indentation of the stainless steel edge/teeth are longer/deeper on the long hair.

Which step would I use this in grooming my dog?
Answer by ChewyApr 17, 2019
The FURminator can be used at any time on a pet with a completely dry coat, but for best results it is recommended to be performed immediately after washing or drying.

Makes grooming easier!

This is my first time using the Furminator. My boy became a loose, limp rag doll for me while grooming his corgi/Chihuahua coat. He has a double coat which was in dire need of a comb or brush out? I placed the order the day after I came home with him! I have no regrets on this device as it lulled him to sleep! Then he was so excited about the grooming? He did zoomies! He’s a happy boy and would recommend it to anyone who has a canine with a double coat!

A must have..

My Pomsky is blowing her coat out currently. The shedding is immense. I needed something new to help remedy our problem. I tried this deshedding brush with their grooming rake. The pair works perfectly! I had a whole grocery bag full of hair off of my pup. I took a star away because this brush does not keep the hair in the bristles. Hair was flying everywhere. However the grooming take kept the hair in place which I appreciated.

love it, worth every penny

Highly recommend this brush! It’s amazing. My golden retriever loves being brushed with it but I love how much fur comes off of him (and not on my furniture lol). Seriously would recommend for anyone with a dog with a thick, long coat like a golden.

Well, the photo says it all

Just got this and used it for the first time right out of the box. Holy. Crap. I brushed our 6 month old Frenchie puppy and I think we have a second dog now given what came off of him. This brush is easy to use and pulls a lot of hair off your dog quickly. Only advice is not to do this while wearing dark clothes. My husband and I weren’t thinking and are now covered in fur as well from holding our pup - oops. The brush is great though!

Far exceeded expectations

I am in disbelief at how well this brush worked on my long AND short hair cats. I get more hair off with this brush in 30 seconds than I would in 20 minutes with any other brush I've ever used. It is VERY sharp so you have to be careful but I HIGHLY recommend.

The Best Brush

This was more expensive than most dog brushes but it works great! No batteries required. It is sturdy, not a flimsy plastic brush. It gets my German Shepherd's undercoat and the press of the lever releases the hair from the brush. No mess except for all the hair you will get. TIP: Use this outside, not inside or be prepared for all the hair.

Found a puppy in my dog

My son has a German Shepherd with long fur. I was tired of having his fur everywhere. I received this and immediately went to town on his fur. I did not know an animal could have that much fur come off his body using 4, FOUR, passes across his body! There was enough fur that it could form a puppy! I am really thrilled that this works as good as it does because I was really concerned due to the price - but aren’t we all? I do have to brush every day because his fur is so thick, but once it is under control, I can use it to maintain a nice manicured coat. *** SIDE NOTE - I did try this on my labs coat and it worked okay. She wouldn’t hold still long enough fir a full grooming.

Not made like they use to.

I heard so much about this product but i used this on my husky and it snapped off.. i dont know if i have a bad one or what but i thought this was made for huskys. I think i rather use a regular brush and comb for dogs atleast the cost is 50 less.

Lab hates it but works well

I have a new appreciation for my vacuum, my dustpan, and my groomer. A year into "Labrador life" I think I can give a credible review on the Furiminator. My dog battles me and constantly tries to eat the brush BUT with lots of treats and many sessions, he is learning to tolerate short brushings. As you can see from the photos, this product does a great and fast job of removing his loose undercoat. I'm really trying to be diligent about at-home combing and brushing because as the groomer said, it really does help make each bath more effective. This time we went 6.5 weeks between grooms!! A miracle because usually right at 4 weeks he stinks and his coat feels gritty. I will continue to use this and would recommend for dogs with thick/double coats. Took off 1 star because as others mention, the release mechanism feels a bit cheap and 'sticks' from time to time.

Staticky but St Bernard approved!

My dog sheds a lot, I literally was combing with him with a rake brush every 2 days and there was still fur everywhere. I picked this up even though I was skeptical of the price and was really blown away by the results. It still takes me around 45 minutes to brush my pup completely and that’s with help but the results are amazing. I gave it 4 stars because it causes a crazy static that gets the fur stuck to everything but with some extra effort I can swing it off to a side and at least it’s off my pup.
