Great product for longhairs!
I have a long-haired Domestic kitty whose hair is out of control. We're talking hairball vomit, and tumbleweeds of fur floating around the house. This product has been a miracle for helping control all the shedding for my long-haired baby without causing any discomfort. Our first attempt even yielded a giant hairball, which was a literal weight off him! I would definitely recommend it to any parents with a long-haired cat, especially over one of those cheapo generic pet brushes (we had one and it was doing nothing to help the shedding so it's now just our glorified head and whisker rubber.)
Love the brush. The cats? Not so much.
I love FURminator brand and bought this when I brought my long hair kitten home. The brush seems to make her uncomfortable as she will run off when I use this brush. She likes when I use a soft bristle brush on her. I am hoping that she will get used to it because I want to avoid as many hairballs as possible.
This thing is amazing!
So, our dear Ellie has suffered with dandruff since forever. Her coat is very dense and brushing just seemed to make the dandruff go everywhere. THIS little beauty has her looking shiny and dandruff free with daily attention in no time! Bonus: She likes it! Just start out soft as it is a little prickly but it is truly amazing! Followed it up with Allerpet cat dander remover and she is lookin' good!
A Must Must Must
I was hesitate to pay this much for a deshedding tool but the cat hair situation in the house was frustrating. The second the Furminator was delivered, I headed out to the porch to put it to the test. Both cats (small female and medium sized male) loved it. They payed down and let me brush them for a long time. It was like a cat hair blizzard on the porch. I highly recommend you use this tool outside because of the amount of hair it grabs. Don’t hesitate, this is well worth the money!

This tool works so well at removing shed hairs from my cats, I’ve been telling all the pet parents I know about it ! It removed a such huge amount of shed fur from my long haired cat that she looks like a different animal ! It also works extremely well on my short haired cat ! I recommend that you order it without hesitation !!!
Amazing!
The amount of hair I managed to get off of 2 formerly feral cats in under 2 minutes was mind blogging! It would be nice if it could hold more & not have to be cleaned out about every other stroke, but it also doesn't collect tightly so I end up chasing a lot of loose hair around afterwards. My cats are definitely lighter & feel better so I'm willing to chase it.
My cats didn’t like it
I’m not sure if I’m just using it wrong but both my cats really disliked this brush. They tolerate other brushes but not this one. My one cat actually hissed at it and she’s never hissed before. I think it does it’s job a little too well with removing hair. It was actually removing guard hairs instead of just the undercoat. I’ll try again with this brush after trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. Also the long hair and short hair brush look exactly the same to me. I bought both since I have a short and a long hair cat and kinda wish I didn’t.

My cat is a medium hair cat and her was matting badly! I bought this tool and a bag of treats because her “Kittenality” was bad. My boyfriend and I work together and we got a lot of the knots out until she lost her appetite. We will try again next time!
