    Love these

    By Sue313 on Jan 23, 2020

I just got these and they work perfect for our XLARGE 100lb dog! He has huge nails and they grow like crazy. I was hesitant to trim them, but these clippers have a back that makes it impossible to over cut them! The clipper goes through without stressing your hand. Not strong enough for thick nails

By danemom on Nov 28, 2020

i needed a new, sharp pair of clippers and bought the furminator clippers. however, either i don't have enough strength in my old hands, or these are just not strong or sharp enough for thick nails. i have a black-nailed great dane (approx 110#)

does not cleanly clip nails on my kitten

    By on

I’m a first time kitten owner, so I picked this set because of all the good reviews. I should have done my research properly because it does not smoothly cut my kittens nails. They’re left jagged and crushed, and I’m worried that I’ve hurt him. He’s so laid back and quiet that I don’t know how he feels about the clippers, but his nails seem like they could’ve been damaged. I will use them very infrequently until he gets older.

    Caution for cats.

    By on

This is definitely not for kittens. It worked on the cats but it's the first time when both of them complained. I hadn't touched the quick or anything. I believe the cats were complaining about the size of it. They tolerated it enough for me to trim all of their claws. It works fine for dogs.

I’m try to be fair, but can’t suggest these

    By on

Before I begin - I think these worked well for patient, calm, small breed dogs, but I don’t like these for cats. I was excited to have a nice pair of clippers for the cats, but this has been underwhelming and more of a hassle. The “switch” that stops/locks the clippers from retracting is loose and locks itself while you’re using it- which is annoying when your trying to work precisely and quickly with a cat with little patience. I find that you have to use it vertically or you’ll crush your cats nails off rather than cut. Also, I’m my experience, the guard is loose and will not hold a tightening even with pliers- and isn’t a reliable enough to assume you’re not going to cut too deep. I don’t like to be wasteful, and I wanted something that would last, but I feel these are a liability for cat nail clipping. … more

    Look and feel nice

    By on

I really like the way the Clippers feel in my hand not too late not too heavy I thought they would be perfect for my dogs the last pair of Clippers that I had snapped when clipping my dog's nails I thought these ones were going to be great due to the fact they looked heavy Duty normally I clip my dog's nails in the shower after their bath so that they are softer but that didn't work this time they left small sniggles on some of the nails work great for my small dog and cats

    Sorry, but just ok

To be honest, my cheap nail clippers are better. The one sometimes does not cut the nail well and leaves it frayed. A bit disappointed. The idea is good, just seems to be a hit or miss when trimming my kitty's nails.

    Was expecting better

When I tried the clippers on my cat it didn’t give a clean cut. I tried several times with the same results.

    Clippers are OK

    By on

I have 4 cats, all 4 different breeds and sizes. I found the clippers to be very cumbersome to handle while trying to wrestle a wriggling cat. I also found that the shield wouldn't twist all the way in to allow for their short nails, and it also got in the way of my view of the nails. For the nails I was able to clip, the clippers seemed very sharp and precise.

    Not for larger breeds

Worked well on miniature dachshunds but not suitable for my German Shepherd Labrador mix, clippers did not open wide enough to accommodate her thicker nails.

    FURminator nail clippers

    By on

I love this brand, of all the products I have bought from them the nail clippers would be my least favorite. I have a 5 month old golden retriever right now and the clippers work okay.. In a couple more months I feel I will have to find a different brand to use. They are fine for puppies and smaller dogs, but I can already tell they won't hold up for what I will need in a couple months. Wasn't very expensive so I'm not dissatisfied.. I wish FURminator would come out with a heavy duty set.
