Can you grind to short

There's always a chance that you might go too short while grinding your pet's nails. Before starting, note where the dead nail ends and where the live part, the quick, starts. Hold the paw firmly while gently pressing the base of each nail with your thumb. Gently grind down the nail, going slowly to keep your pet comfortable. Be sure to stop grinding before reaching the quick to avoid bleeding. Short passes of the grinder are recommended to avoid overheating of the nail, which could cause discomfort. Please note that these are the grinder replacement bands and not the nail grinder.

File Bands

The bands don't stay in place during filing use; they slowly slip upward! I think the "quickness" of how the nail if filed down (tried on my Doxie. pup) isn't that "quick"!

Unsure exactly the problem

I bought these to go with the Furminator Nail Grinder, obviously. The first, original, one worked OK. Not great. Wore it out on less than 10 nails. Replacement is too large for the rubber column that it should fit snugly to, rendering the nail grinder useless. (Or did the rubber column shrink with the pressure and heat???)

Very weak.

I thought this would be good quality since it was from furminator. However, the device felt cheap and fragile. It is supposed to have two speeds, but when I put my small dog's nail the unit stopped on speed one and slowed almost to a halt on speed two. I want to return this.

No Sweat Trim

My Ruthie would literally start to perspire and shake when I took out the nail clippers. Using the Furminator nail grinder, with the quiet setting and easy to use way to keep her nails short and rounded has completely eliminated the stress from this practice of doggy maintainance. Chewy makes ordering the replacement bands quick and easy and cost effective. The system is a great addition for doggy grooming.

Don’t work

They are too big for the FURminator! They slide up and down when you try to trim their nails, and unless you barely touch their nails to it, the bands will stop spinning while the machine continues to spin. Do not recommend them!

It's doing the job

When I first got this a year ago my dogs were terrified of it. The loud noise freaked them out. I gave it to my mom a while back and her dog wasn't having it either, so she ended up giving it back. I decided recently to try it again and at first I could only get one paw done on one of my dogs, as of now we can do all four paws. The other dog still hates it tho. I was so happy that we could use it on one dog and I ended up getting the refills. The refills are a good price for what you get so I will continue to get when we need more.
