Shedding—it seems like a losing battle that pet parents can never win. It's true that you'll never stop your precious furballs from shedding, but you can reduce the amount of hair that gets all over with the FURminator deShedding Tool. Designed by a professional groomer, this ingenious tool reaches beyond the topcoat to remove loose hair from the undercoat. It gently pulls away the dead hair without hurting your pet's skin or damaging the protective undercoat.
The Gentle Grooming Solution
When you can tell everywhere your pet's been just by the hair trail left behind, it's time for FURminator to step in. Their popular deShedding Tool won't scratch the skin, and you can even use it on the ears and tail. Instead of cutting the undercoat, it only removes the hair that's already loose. With 10-20 minute sessions just once or twice a week, you can reduce matting and bring out the coat's natural shine.
Less Hair, Less Work
FURminator deShedding Tools help you cut down on your vacuuming time by reducing your pets' shedding up to 90%. Believe it or not, the hair that you find all over the house—clinging to the furniture and your clothes, and hiding in corners with its "tumble-hair" buddies is mostly from your pet's undercoat. This hair gets trapped under the topcoat and then sheds pretty much everywhere—unless you have a handy FURminator!
The FURminator Advantage
There are tons of deshedding tools on the market, but the FURminator is recommended by vets and professional groomers worldwide because it gives real results. The stainless steel edge has special compact teeth that push through the topcoat and gently rake away loose hairs. A convenient FURejector button releases the hair from the tool so it doesn't build up on the deShedding edge. Plus, the easy-grip handle is comfortable for longer grooming sessions.

I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to try this-- maybe because the design has improved? But I freaking love it. Someone donated an older one to me and I HAD to have the newest, the best, the GREATEST FURMINATOR. It takes almost ALL of the undercoat, leaving shedding almost non-existent. It does take time... so take the time and really groom them, do multiple "sessions" don't make their skin raw (like brushing your hair a million times), and can stress the animal out, especially if they're not a fan of being brushed!!! Now, I do regret also buying the cat version because to me, it's the same thing. There's nothing unique, but the price & color. Highly recommend. Ok, I have heard people rave about FURminators for their high shedding breeds for years and always assumed they were just hype... well when Chewy was running an AMAZING sale I decided to give the small a try and use it on my parent's dogs that shed. When it arrived at my house I tried it out on my Scottie who sheds very minimally. After brushing for 10 minutes I was VERY impressed. After brushing, her hair was laying so flat and felt nice and wiry. I also noticed less black hair on my white bedding. Cannot wait to try this thing on my parent's dogs!

I bought the medium size furminator instead of the large because it was on sale for $10, compared to $45 at the pet store. The short hair brush works well for most of my Shepherd, as most of his fur is on the shorter side (under two inches). For a typical Shepherd I would probably get the long hair one, but my guy is a mix so he has mostly shorter hair than your typical Shep. I've noticed a big difference in the amount of dog hair lying around!

I have used Furminator for many years and it works beautifully.
I have found them to be durable & long lasting... but not this time.
Within 2-3 months the tips of the teeth broke off. I used the guard and no, it hasn't been dropped.
I purchased from Chewy.com.
I'm disappointed to say the least and am currently using a furminator from 2 dogs ago that has no broken teeth.
I feel it was a defective edge.
Good for the most part

Very sharp, not when touching but when using in hair against skin. Pulls a lot of loose hair out, it does reduce ALOT of hair around the house. Great for the main body, back, neck and stomach. Very hard and cumbersome to use on smaller parts like legs, face and tail. Creates slot of skin flakes as it scrapes skin. Will cut if your dog has any imperfection is skin like moles, mosquito bites and other bumps.
Good Product, Not as Effective on Pug as I'd Hoped

I really like this tool. It's heavy in your hand, and I love the feature that pushes hair out of the comb for you. I had originally purchased this for my pug and although it does help get some hair out of his extremely dense coat, it doesn't do as much as I had hoped. It seems like the comb is almost too fine and it has a hard time capturing his hair. He doesn't seem to mind it and will willingly let me use it as long as I'm careful about the amount of pressure I'm using. Overall, I'll still keep using it and trying to get some excess hair out of our shedding machine.
NOT AS SEEN IN THE VIDEOS

I tried this on my boxer/ lab mix "missy" who happens to be shedding badly right now. She has the shorter hair and it is baby fine. This did not pick up but a few of the hairs all over her. Also, does not glide smoothly along her coat. She didn't enjoy it at all. I watched the video on this product and shows tons of hair being removed from different dogs. Very unhappy with this.
Works Very Well

I ordered the Large , short hair model for my 165 lb Bullmastiff . The chart suggests that I should have ordered the Giant but I could not see paying $20+ more . I already had an older model from years ago that I leave in my vacation home and it’s the size of the Large and works fine . I like the new feature of being able to push the button to clean it out .
Gets the job done

I really didn't believe this would work on my Rotties. they shed like crazy. Other Rottie owners have recommended it so I had to see for myself. This furminator gets the job done. as a test I used one of my other brushes then used the furminator, and the furminator removed even more fur. I'm sold. I've noticed less fur on my floors since using this.

I have a short haired black lab that sheds terrible. This comb works so good to remove hair and dander from him. I was finding dog hair everywhere before we got this comb. After using it nearly daily, I have seen a drop in the amount of dog hair all over my house. I totally recommend this to anyone that has a short haired dog that sheds a lot.
