I ordered the Furminator (short-haired) for my two rescues. One is a Great Dane mix that sheds like no other. While the Furminator does get loose fur, it also seems to pull a bit, which is uncomfortable and disconcerting. It also doesn't seem to grab enough of the loose fur to make any real difference to the tufts of fur left blowing around the floor. Given that it warns about leaving potential bald spots, I'll continue looking for the perfect brush/comb/rake for our fuzzy butts.
One of the best brushes I have used for my german shepherds- very effective at getting to the undercoat. Does not seem to pull at their fur like a lot of brushes do. Bother brushes for short and long coats work fabulously!!
Our older beagle doesn't LOVE being brushed, but the furminator does such a great job, and I love that I can push a button and gather all the hair easily off the ends of the combs! I've been using it every day and I think she is shedding less, too!
I have bought different brushes but nothing has truly work to get rid of the shedding until now. When this arrived wiuth my Chewy order I tried it out and when I say simple and easy this is to use, it is. This tool gets so much loose hair of my pittie its amazing. What truly sets it apart is that when you comb your baby the hair comes off in a straight ligh and all you do is push on the lever and the hair come right off so its clean and ready to go again. My girl also really like the feel of it in comparison to other brushes we used.
Finally a brush that takes out the hair and not leave it all over my dog when I'm done brushing her. Thank you FURminator.
I was hesitant because it’s pretty pricey, but this thing is great. I have an American Bully who has a thick patch of fur on the back of his neck and near his shoulders. Fur was constantly just falling off and nothing was helping. This product absolutely helped with that mess. He still sheds obviously, but it is not just a huge pile of fur that’s constantly coming out of that area. Highly recommend!
I could not believe the amount of undercoat that this pulled off my red Doberman. I had noticed when petting her how much she was shedding. Not to mention the amount of hair she was dropping in my house. She sat like a champ while I combed her. The amount of hair that came out was unbelieveable, I had wondered if this worth the money and found out, yes, it’s worth every penny. Next I am going to use on my black doberman and see if it pulls as much off her as it did the red doberman.
I had used one of these brushes on my in laws French Bulldog a few weeks ago and thought it was great but was not fond of spending the money on it for my dogs. Well I finally decided to get it when Chewy did a promo and boy am I glad I did. Our Lab mix sheds but I had no idea how much fur I would get out of him until I used this. I am so impressed and loved how relaxing it was to brush him too. I highly recommend this to all dog parents, worth the money hands down!
I ended up with the orange one and find that it is very heavy to hold and the area to comb is small, it works ok, but for the cost I think it's gimmicky. I don't care for it.
Brush works wonderfully. The only nitpick about this item is that the proposed FURejector doesn't quite work as intended. I searched the questions before posting this review to see if that was it's actual intention or not and according to Chewy it is. The ejector button doesn't remove the fine hair from the teeth. But it does work as intended in every single other aspect. Nearly perfect!
