About Us
Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue (SSR) is a 501c3, all-volunteer rescue focused primarily on the rescue of German Shepherd Dogs (GSD’s) and German Shepherd Mix dogs. Based out of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, we expand our reach to primarily heavily populated areas in south Texas. More dogs dying here in shelters than there are rescues to save them. SSR rescues dogs that other rescues can't/won't save due to their medical issues or age. Our volunteers have been rescuing German Shepherds for many years with other rescues until the formation of SSR over 4 years ago.
