We recommend thoroughly washing and drying your Vittles Vault container regularly. Over time, oils absorb into the plastic, which can cause food to become rancid. When that happens, your furry friend won't want to eat it.

Are your products BPA Free?
Yes, our containers are made from food-grade, BPA-free (and BPS-free) plastic. Our containers are safe for both people and pet food!
Where are your products made?
We are committed to supporting our local economy. We proudly make our Vittles Vault pet food containers and GAMMA Seal Lids in the USA. We have two factories: one in California and one in Tennessee.
Can I put the container or lid in the dishwasher?
We do not recommend putting the Gamma Seal Lid in the dishwasher. Please wash this piece by hand. The containers themselves can be put in the dishwasher.
What do you mean by "Pest Proof?"
When we say pest, we mean insects such as ants (a very common problem). Rats can chew through metal if they have reason to think there is food to be had. We do not guarantee our product against mice, rats, raccoons, possums, squirrels, bears, etc. However, we do make it difficult for these pest to chew through the rounded angle corners. It's tough for them to get their mouths around these corners. We suggest that if you have a problem, place a piece of wood (13"X 13") over the top, or store the Vittles Vault upside down. Customers have also had success covering their container with a milk crate or putting a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil on the container to act as a natural repellent.
Can I store my Vittles Vault outside?
The Vittles Vault Outback Collection is ideal for outdoor storage.
Do I need to wash my Vittles Vault?
We recommend thoroughly washing and drying your Vittles Vault prior to use. It is also recommended to periodically wash and dry your container. This is because the oils from the pet food can absorb into the plastic over time and become rancid. A good rule of thumb is to wash and dry your container with each new bag of food.
My lid is too tight and I can't open it.
Try pressing on the center of the lid and then unscrewing.
Is my Vittles Vault recyclable?
While we hope you would never want to discard your Vittles Vault, you can indeed recycle it if you no longer need it.
What size is the free scoop included with the Vittles Vaults?
The scoop is just a smidge over 1 cup.
How tightly should I screw on my lid?
To close and seal your Vittles Vault, all you have to do is spin the lid. It will close to the ideal setting. Over-tightening and forcing the lid closed beyond this point can damage the protective seal.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
By TBMI on Oct 26, 2020
Absolutely LOVE them!! They do not collapse and fall in with the weight of the horse grain and they are stack-able and look very nice!! My biggest concern was that they would tip over with how narrow they are but so far so great! Filling them is a wee bit weird but once you do it a couple of time you get used to it and figure it out. I use the tough1 measuring scoop that has the pounds on the side and that fits through the opening very well. I also have difficulty with my hands in the winter and these are extremely easy to open with one hand even with gloves on. I literally have NO complaints at all!!!

Poor quality
By Demonreach on Dec 9, 2020
These are very lightweight and not in any way durable. I liked the concept of a narrow, stackable container, but these are very thin walled. I sent them back for the GammaVault Outback as I know they can handle whatever comes their way.

great for why I needed - 40-lb pine pellet litter
By lrowe on Aug 24, 2020
Overall, this does the trick. I bought it to hold a 40-lb bag of horse bedding pellets that I used for cat litter. In the photos, the container is about half full, and there is roughly half a bag of pellets in it. It fits perfectly in the space, so the online measurements are correct since that is what I went by. Really like that it came with a cup for scooping. Plastic seems to be sturdy, and I haven’t had any issues with the lid not going on as some other reviews mentioned. However, I did notice that the lid had oil on it when I got it; the oil had a smell but wasn’t quite a WD40 smell. However, it was clearly a lubricant for the threads on the lid/opening, which I don’t mind, but it was all Overall, this does the trick. The other thing I noticed was the black plastic bib-type thing on the container around the opening. It’s not attached to the main container and can just be taken off. I don’t really understand the purpose of it, and if it doesn’t have a purpose, why waste plastic making it? Other than those two things, this is doing the trick for me, and I would recommend it. … more

Lids are terrible making it hard to use
By Joey on Aug 28, 2020
Having had a Gamma2 container for the past 12 years I gave it no second thought about purchasing this item. However I should have read the reviews. The lids are round, but the container opening is oval in shape. Making it a daily hassle three times a day, times two containers. They aren't even equally bad, one is worse than the other as the rubber seal falls off 1 out of 3 times. The only reason I got this is because I now need two containers and non of the other Gamma2 products fit inside a cabinet side by side.

Over all does the job
By 5Stars on Sep 27, 2020
I purchased this for my multiple dog house hold, that have different needs when it comes to food. Not the most sturdy plastic around but does the job. I have mine stacked in the corner & it does just fine. I got the 65lb bins & they fit my large sacks of dog food just fine!

not fill friendly
By Sarah2E on Nov 2, 2020
While it does hold 45 pounds, due to the shape and slope I have difficulty getting 40 pounds of food in there and to keep it from sliding out every time I open the lid.

Pet Food Storage, perfect
By Theresa on Aug 31, 2020
Thus product is worth purchasing, we use 2 different foods for our pups and needed to keep it organized and this worked great. Stackable as it states in description. One thing is just make sure to get a larger one that will accommodate your food, I got the 65 and it fits my 27lb food due to being small kibble

Great for small spaces!
By Ah26 on Aug 30, 2020
We replaced our hinge top storage containers with these and freed up so much space since we are able to stack them and they are more narrow. One was missing a seal but Chewy customer service is amazing and sent a replacement right away. The lids are kind of annoying to screw on and off but for the space I’m saving its worth the minor annoyance.

Lid absolutely sucks
By 2pups on Jul 23, 2020
I bought this to keep my one very food driven dog out of her food (she gorges and makes herself sick) and also keep the food fresher & keep pantry moths out. There is a little rubber o-ring that might seal it if you're ever able to spend the 3 minutes I takes to perfectly line up the lid & make the 16+ full spins it takes to actually get it fully on. Getting it all the way off is also a pain - there's a lot of spinning the top in place before it's all the way out of the grooves and I usually have to pry it off because there's no good place to grab and pull on the handle. I usually don't get it all the way properly on because it's such a pain, but now my dogs have started to figure out how to I bought this to keep my one very food driven dog out of her food (she gorges and makes herself sick) and also keep the food fresher & keep pantry moths out. I'd liked the look of this bin originally, but need a different solution- this isn't working. … more

Unsteady Food Keeper
By Theo on Sep 1, 2020
I have had one of these in the past, but this is not as good. It absolutely keeps varmints out. However, the base is not sturdy enough, it should be without legs. Also, the top is not great and unscrewing and screwing.
