    tight fit but seems sturdy

    We were using an old pop top storage container but it didn’t hold our golden’s entire 47lb bag of food. I searched on chewy and this container was the first to pop up. It had 5 stars and I’ve seen them around so I splurged and bought the 50lb option. Let me tell you- the thing is very durable. We store our food inside but the lid locks down- I think it would be safe anywhere. BUT- it barely holds the entire 47lb bag of food. I was getting a little nervous. We will have to let the old bag completely run out before we can add a new bag because I don’t think one more kernel would fit in there. As the lid locks down I can hear the kernels re-adjusting themselves to make it work. Haven’t used it long term yet but so far, I love it. Much better than what we were using. … more

    Not exactly a "vault."

    I bought it so I could keep cat food outside without raccoons getting into it. But it isn't much of a "vault" - the raccoons have no trouble unscrewing the lid. The problem is that the lid screws onto a plastic ring, and that ring can rotate relative to the container. The problem is that the lid screws onto a plastic ring, and that ring can rotate relative to the container. This means that, when you try to tighten the lid, the ring moves instead. It's extremely difficult to screw the lid down tightly. I discovered that this plastic ring will also pop off the body of the container without much effort, too, so even if you could screw the lid down tight, I'd still be worried about critters getting into it. … more
