†Capacity is calculated by total volume. When using container, choose a capacity greater than what you need to prevent overfilling and spills.
We recommend thoroughly washing and drying your Vittles Vault container regularly. Over time, oils absorb into the plastic, which can cause food to become rancid. When that happens, your furry friend won't want to eat it.
Use a dry-erase marker to personalize your lid sticker with your pet's name, feeding instructions or the date your pet food bag was opened.

I read other reviews that said the 40lb size doesn’t hold a whole bag of food, but I just poured a 35lb bag of food into it along with a smaller bag of food (5-10lbs I think) I had just bought two days prior to hold us over while the 35lb order arrived, and it all fit. You do have to turn the container over so that it stands with the cylindrical side on the top while putting the food in, but it still fits without spilling out when we rotated it back to the stackable position. Great solution to keep food fresh and sealed away from ants which has been a problem on and off in Florida. It’s also a much more aesthetic way to store food than leaving it in the bag, and we put a plant on top of hours so it’s pretty inconspicuous. Hope that helps!
They fit exactly as needed for my dogs who have 2 different diets It took a minute to figure out the bottom lid because when the 2 containers are stacked and really full it changes the shape of the mouth a bit on the bottom container. It was really frustrating at first. I figured it out, though: Once they are both less full and if you push the lid on a bit first it becomes easy. Nothing that should make you not keep or use these. Filled each with roughly 55 Ibs of Kibble with no other issues. Really help with what we needed and nice, small footprint!
Best food storage container I have ever owned, used for our Lab. Highly recommend this product and more so than even that, highly recommend Chewy as a company. They have treated me with great customer service at all times. Great company that stands by their products.
I purchased both the 40lb and 60lb due to both dogs needing different types of food. Like everyone else said they definitely do not hold 40 or 60 lbs, at least any of the several different food brands that I've tried. They stack fine empty, however the 40lb caved the 60lb in once it food was being taken out of it. The lid doesn't go on right either once the upper container start to cave in on the bottom so it doesn't close until the weight is taken off of it. If you have room and don't need to stack them they work great! Minus not holding the amount of food it states. I probably would not buy them again as now they take up twice as much space as they are awkwardly shaped. I'm certain the plastic would crack in a short amount of time if they were to stay stacked on each other.
I bought the 40lb gamma2 vittles some weeks ago, and started using it right away. I have 2 pit bull/mix dogs. They can't get into the container. They've tried and failed, ha. It seems to be very durable. Although, I have no idea how it would hold up outside in the elements since I keep it inside. The only issue I have with it, is it doesn't hold 40lbs of dog food like it says. I buy the 40lb bag of purina one. Every time I fill a completely empty container up with a fresh bag, I have a quarter of dog food left in the bag. Slightly annoying since my house is small and I bought the gamma to help organize. Y'all might wanna buy one size up just in case.
Due to the reviews I was hesistant to buy these. I ended up buying 2 60lb vittle vault as the reviews said it really doesnt hold what they say. I buy a 34 lb IAMS bag and it fits perfectly in there. I also buy a Purina Puppy food and that bag is 53lbs. Both fit perfectly. I do have mine stacked and I have the heavier one on top, yes it kind of squishes the bottom one but it works. I have to feed the puppy more which is why its on top. The way they sit stacked, you technically loose a lot of space. I dont really mind as long as the food fits in there and they do close.
We are using 2 of the 60lb. containers stacked. These work great so far. We have been warned by our vet to be sure to fully empty & clean them out regularly rather than just perpetually re-fill and let the remainder at the bottom collect over time (this can result in bugs...). Given we have 4 big dogs, this is not a problem for us. If you have smaller dogs, I would get the smaller container(s).
I got this Gamma2 Vittles vault to store the dog’s food! I had a little doubt after reading some reviews saying that if barely fits 36 lbs. I decided to go ahead with the order because Chewy has a great return policy and customer service!! Fortunately the whole 40 lbs food fits perfectly inside!
I bought 2 to replace another food bin that my dog had eventually chewed through, thinking this 'vault' would outsmart her. It lasted a few hours. She popped off the lip that the lid seals to and warped it before having a feast. Won't stand up to determined dogs but might be a nice product otherwise. Maybe I need to invest in a bear vault.
The container seems sturdy. We struggle with the lid. It comes off ok. threading the lid back on can be frustrating. And the oring needs to attach better to the lid. If it is dropped it pops off.
