I've had these type of containers for years. I gave my other one away to a friend, her dog was always getting into the food bag. This one is the same quality but it has an awful chemical smell which I've been airing out for over a week. I won't fill it until it is odorless. They do not stack very nice as more than 2 high makes them top-heavy and prone to falling over. The lids are a nightmare to get on or off- the rubber seal either fell off or broke entirely within a week of use. One of the bins is already split and had to be closed up with duct tape to keep bugs out. They do not hold 40 pounds of dog food, they hold closer to 32, which leaves us with partially opened bags (the problem we were avoiding). We store them on plastic shelves, one on each level since they couldn't be stacked and it is a headache 3x a day when we go to feed the dogs. When the lids get cross threaded, it takes prying to get it loose. Overall, these were a complete waste of money and more hassle than any other method we had. They also were not inexpensive - we will definitely not be replacing them with the same brand as they continue to break and deteriorate. … more
