Silence is golden
I ordered 2 of these for my dogs. Then I saw some of the negative reviews. Idk because I’ve only had these now for 2 days but they have been a godsend! I have two Dobermans that bark if a blade of grass moves lol. I was able to download the app and program both of them to the needs of each dogs’ behaviors when it comes to barking. It allows them to bark a few times then an alert beeps before the correction happens. Only took one time for them to get the hint. I am an early riser and I felt bad that my dogs were barking at 04:30 because of a stray cat, etc in the area. My neighbors never complained to me but it was driving me nuts so it had to be bothering them. The collar portion is very long. I swear it would fit a small pony. Lol. I cut off the excess. So if you have a large dog the length is not an issue So far so good :)
Will not work with Android phone
I spent an hour on the phone with tech support and they can not get it to work on my note 8.
Garmin Barklimiter 2 training collar
We purchased the Garmin training collar based on the Garmin name and reputation. The phone app sealed the deal. Major disappointment with both. As far as I can tell, the device never gives a correction. I have tried to set it with the app. It completely useless. I have manually set it and it has never worked. The less expensive unit we have for our other dog works perfect. I am working on returning this to Chewy. I feel bad doing this as we have never been unhappy with anything from them.
Most definitely recommend
Bought one for my mini schnauzer. Works like a miracle. Wonderful. Got another mini schnauzer and need another garmin collar but says it’s unavailable. I’m going to wait until it’s available instead of taking a chance on another brand.
Doesnt work all the time
Ive had this for 3 days. Its great when it works, but then it will just stop working. The lights will be on, ill restart it, use the app, and nothing. Which doesnt work well in a apartment complex with dogs everywhere, and my dog barking his head off when im not home. I wish i could return this or else im out $100
Not A "Smart Collar" For Your Dog
I recently bought this no-bark collar for my 80lb very stubborn Belgian Malinois to teach him not to bark at absolutely everything. It seemed like a good idea because you can pair an app to it and adjust how it corrects which is a great idea in theory. Unfortunately After using it for a few days, I found out it was correcting for anything that caused vibration on his throat. It corrected for playing, eating, chewing on a toy, sitting next to a loud tv, etc. This is not a product that was made with real use in mind. I am ok with a "shock collar" when it is applied properly, however this collar would do more harm than good on any semi-active dog. I would say that this collar is not safe for your dogs health, psychologically or physically.
Used for Years
I have used these bark collars for nearly 20 years. Garmin/TriTronics makes the best ones out there. Very durable and dependable. Dogs learn quickly without excessive stimulation. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I find that the rechargeable battery needs recharging more often than stated. The old replaceable batteries worked up to 3 months but are somewhat expensive. New iPhone app easy to use.
