Choose from 18 levels of continuous and momentary stimulation or a tone and vibration setting for up to 3 dogs (additional dog devices required; sold separately).

• Position the device at the front of the dog’s neck, with the status LED facing toward the dog’s chin and the contact points against the throat.

• Tighten the strap so that the collar is snug around the dog’s neck and fasten the buckle.

• With the buckle facing outward, insert the end of the collar strap through the slot of the collar device.

• Pull most of the collar strap through the two slots on the dog device.

• Insert the end of the collar strap through the slot on the opposite side of the device.

• Pull the strap until it is tight across the front of the device.

NOTE: The collar should fit tightly and should not be able to rotate or slide around the dog’s neck. The dog must be able to swallow food and water normally. You should observe your dog’s behavior to verify that the collar is not too tight.

How do I find the proper fit for my dog?

• Place the collar around the middle of the dog’s neck.
• Position the device at the front of the dog’s neck, with the status LED facing forward toward the dog’s chin and the contact points against the throat.
• For bark correction, the device contact points should be positioned near the dog’s vocal cords. This location varies based on the breed of dog. If the device does not seem to detect the dog’s barks, you should move the device closer or farther from the dog’s body to find the ideal location.
• Tighten the strap so that it is very snug around the dog’s neck, and fasten the buckle.
• The collar should fit tightly and should not be able to rotate or slide on the dog’s neck. The dog must be able to swallow food and water normally. You should observe your dog’s behavior to verify that the collar is not too tight.
• Wiggle the device to work the contact points through the dog’s coat.
• The contact points must have contact with the dog’s skin to be effective.
• If the strap is too long, cut off the excess, leaving at least 3 inches (8 cm) to spare.
• You can mark the hole used to fasten the buckle for future reference

What do I do if my collar will not charge?

• Inspect the charging clip and AC adapter or vehicle power cable for any damage and replace if necessary.
• Try removing and reconnecting the charging clip to the collar* Make sure the charging contacts are clean and dry.
• Refer to your Owner’s Manual for general collar cleaning instructions

What do I do if my collar will not power on?

• Press and hold the power button for up to 60 seconds.
• Make sure the battery is charged.
• Attempt to power the collar on while connected to a power source.
• If the collar powers on, leave it plugged in to charge the battery.
• If the collar powers off immediately when disconnected after attempting to charge, the battery may need to be replaced.

What is Autorise Bark Correction?

The Autorise mode is designed to provide the proper level of stimulation correction to prevent excessive barking. When a dog barks, it will be corrected by the device with stimulation. It will only send one correction within a four second window to give the dog a chance to respond. If the dog continues to bark, the collar will increase the intensity level of the stimulation reaching the highest level within 30 seconds. Should the dog refrain from barking, the device will slowly decrease the intensity level reaching the lowest level within 30 minutes. This ensures the dog is corrected at the right level.

What do I do if my dog Continues to bark while wearing a BarkLimiter Series Device?

Extensive research has been performed to create the AutoRise function that automatically increases intensity as the dog continues to bark. While this feature works for most dogs, some dogs learn to manipulate the system so that they receive minimal correction. If your dog is failing to respond to the collar, avoid using AutoRise and manually set the stimulation level for your dog to ensure he receives the correct level of stimulation on a consistent basis. Reference the latest instructions on manually setting the stimulation level in your Owner’s Manual. If the dog continues to show no reaction to the collar, it is possible that the collar may be too loose to provide consistent stimulation. Consistent stimulation is necessary to provide consistent training, which leads to consistent results.

Should I leave the device on while my dog is eating?

To prevent discomfort to a dog while it is eating, removal of the collar is recommended. This can be coordinated with the eight hour break every dog should receive from the collar as indicated in your Owner’s Manual. As an alternative you can ensure the device is not in BarkLimiter mode before feeding the dog.

How do you check the Battery status?

Rotate the dial away from N. The color of the status LED will now indicate battery charge level for 5 seconds.

What do the BarkLimiter Series Light Sequences mean?

The BarkLimiter dog collars will display different light sequences to let you know the status of the collar while in use or during charging. The different colors and flashes are described in the tables below.
