Description

Discourage excessive barking at home or wherever you and your pup may be with the safe and effective Garmin BarkLimiter Deluxe Training Collar. It has a compact and lightweight design, integrated stainless steel contact points that provide bark correction and comes with a slim and rechargeable lithium battery. This collar is specifically designed to train your furry friend quickly and easily. With innovative technology to identify between barking and other noises, you no longer have to worry about false corrections. And an auto setting intuitively rises the level of correction until your pooch quiets down. And you can even know how your fur baby is doing when you’re away from home, thanks to the built-in counter that measures each and every bark.

  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery works out of the box and allows for up to 3 months of performance once it's fully charged.
  • Correction can be set to stimulation or vibration and intensity will automatically increase until barking stops.
  • Built-in bark counter helps to determine effectiveness of collar and correction type by recording number of barks.
  • Intuitive bark collar technology helps to distinguish between barking and other sounds, reducing false corrections.

How do I find the proper fit for my dog?

  • Place the collar around the middle of the dog’s neck.
  • Position the device at the front of the dog’s neck, with the status LED facing forward toward the dog’s chin and the contact points against the throat.
  • For bark correction, the device contact points should be positioned near the dog’s vocal cords. This location varies based on the breed of dog. If the device does not seem to detect the dog’s barks, you should move the device closer or farther from the dog’s body to find the ideal location.
  • Tighten the strap so that it is very snug around the dog’s neck, and fasten the buckle.
  • The collar should fit tightly and should not be able to rotate or slide on the dog’s neck. The dog must be able to swallow food and water normally. You should observe your dog’s behavior to verify that the collar is not too tight.
  • Wiggle the device to work the contact points through the dog’s coat.
  • The contact points must have contact with the dog’s skin to be effective.
  • If the strap is too long, cut off the excess, leaving at least 3 inches (8 cm) to spare.
  • You can mark the hole used to fasten the buckle for future reference

FAQ

What do I do if my collar will not charge?

  • Inspect the charging clip and AC adapter or vehicle power cable for any damage and replace if necessary.
  • Try removing and reconnecting the charging clip to the collar* Make sure the charging contacts are clean and dry.
  • Refer to your Owner’s Manual for general collar cleaning instructions

What do I do if my collar will not power on?

  • Press and hold the power button for up to 60 seconds.
  • Make sure the battery is charged.
  • Attempt to power the collar on while connected to a power source.
  • If the collar powers on, leave it plugged in to charge the battery.
  • If the collar powers off immediately when disconnected after attempting to charge, the battery may need to be replaced.

What is Autorise Bark Correction?

The Autorise mode is designed to provide the proper level of stimulation correction to prevent excessive barking. When a dog barks, it will be corrected by the device with stimulation. It will only send one correction within a four second window to give the dog a chance to respond. If the dog continues to bark, the collar will increase the intensity level of the stimulation reaching the highest level within 30 seconds. Should the dog refrain from barking, the device will slowly decrease the intensity level reaching the lowest level within 30 minutes. This ensures the dog is corrected at the right level.

What do I do if my dog Continues to bark while wearing a BarkLimiter Series Device?

Extensive research has been performed to create the AutoRise function that automatically increases intensity as the dog continues to bark. While this feature works for most dogs, some dogs learn to manipulate the system so that they receive minimal correction. If your dog is failing to respond to the collar, avoid using AutoRise and manually set the stimulation level for your dog to ensure he receives the correct level of stimulation on a consistent basis. Reference the latest instructions on manually setting the stimulation level in your Owner’s Manual. If the dog continues to show no reaction to the collar, it is possible that the collar may be too loose to provide consistent stimulation. Consistent stimulation is necessary to provide consistent training, which leads to consistent results.

Should I leave the device on while my dog is eating?

To prevent discomfort to a dog while it is eating, removal of the collar is recommended. This can be coordinated with the eight hour break every dog should receive from the collar as indicated in your Owner’s Manual. As an alternative you can ensure the device is not in BarkLimiter mode before feeding the dog.

How do you check the Battery status?

Rotate the dial away from N. The color of the status LED will now indicate battery charge level for 5 seconds.

What do the BarkLimiter Series Light Sequences mean?

The BarkLimiter dog collars will display different light sequences to let you know the status of the collar while in use or during charging. The different colors and flashes are described in the tables below.

  • Battery status light:

Green:

Battery has good charge;

The barking stopped in one day of use

    By on

We didn't want to do it but our big 90 lb 5 yr old girl guard dog could no longer control her instinct to bark at anything and everything walking by our house and we couldn't leave her overnight because she was disturbing the neighbors. The vibration setting did't seem to work so I turned on the shock and she freaked out once (or was shocked - pun) the first time she was zapped. AMAZINGLY she was smart enough to immediately learn not to bark. She doesn't bark even when its not on if we are home. When friends come to the house she doesn't bark (good or bad for strangers visiting?). Sometimes she barks once and is reminded. If u burned your dog, it's your fault

    By on

I read one specific review about someone putting it on 3 and after a few days the dog wouldn't go outside and upon talking the collar off the owner noticed burn marks... WELL... The instructions clearly state to take it off for 8hrs/day. Not to mention they put it on a 3 of 16 setting and left it there (for 3 days) while the dog continued to bark. The idea is to set it high enough that the dog STOPS BARKING. Not gets a small shock a 100+ times per day on the exact same spot. If u put it on and the dog continues to bark then turn it up. You can turn it back down later once the dog learns to stop barking. But it has to learn that 1st. Later it won't take near as much shock (or shouldn't anyway I read one specific review about someone putting it on 3 and after a few days the dog wouldn't go outside and upon talking the collar off the owner noticed burn marks... Working great!

    By on

I have a 165 pound dog with a huge neck, that has a lot of skin. The collar fits fine and has been working great! He usually barks and howls at night, with coyotes that travel through the yard. I was skeptical, but it's been a life saver for the relationships with our neighbors!

    Very difficult to use.

    By on

This collar is very precise to get to actually use. It is inconsistent in correcting barking. It also does not hold a charge for very only, only about 6 hours. So before the night is over it is dead and does not correct barking.

    For 2 medium sized dogs

    By on

These worked immediately for my 2 dogs. I tried it on myself before putting it on my dogs. It really only works if it feels vibration from the vocal cords!

    Best purchase

    By on

I love that it has different levels. I set it to vibrate and she only barked once. Now when I put the collar on her she doesn’t test it.

    Junk collar

    By on

This collar is not only useless, it's a serious hazard to pets. So far it's shocked my dog when the door to my office closed 15 ft. behind her. It shocked her when a friend said hello to her. It just shocked her when I was petting her!!!!!!!! Oh, and when she barked at the mail lady, NOTHING. Garbage just misspelled "Garmin"

    Solved the problem!

    By on

This collar helped solve a barking issue we had with our labrador retriever. It was definitely a last resort but after having the collar on him while we were not home for a few weeks he can now go without it. The product does as advertised and satisfied us completely. I am glad we spent the extra money for a quality solution.
