The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight. We suggest feeding twice a day. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

The transition period should be at minimum, ten days and could take upwards of two weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change. On day one, introduce 10% new food and 90% old food. Keep the food at this ratio for two or more days. Next, increase the ratio to 20% new food and 80% old food for two or more days. Repeat increasing in increments of 10% until you’re feeding 100% of the new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process to let his or her digestive tract adjust to the new food. Some vomiting and/or diarrhea can be normal when introducing new foods as the digestive process and the naturally occurring bacteria your pet’s body requires is a complex and delicate system. If you experience any vomiting and/or diarrhea, be sure to reduce the amount of new food the next time you feed and overall, slow the whole transition period down even more.

  • Truly, clean eating for your dog

    By on

I tried another vegan dog food and soon discovered it had unhealthy canola oil. So I switched to Gather. Yes it’s more money, but I care about clean eating for my family and my dog.

  • Our puppy loved it

The pieces were a little too big for our 3 and half month old puppy. At 4 and half months old he loves it. I have seen him pick these pieces out and leave other food behind.

MY dog really likes this, but he likes anything remotely edible. First, when you open the bag is a strong potato smell. And it actually has a taste much like potato chips. YES, I did actually eat a few. NOT bad tasting either. But I did not want a potato based food, but if it works may be irrelevant. The kibble is very small, HALF the size of the Natural Balance vegetarian formula (which does not smell or taste like potatoes). The BB date is totally illegible, so I have NO idea how old or fresh this is. The price is excessively exorbitant, more per pound than the highest quality meat based formulas. I am being generous in my 4 star rating. … more

  • My dogs are obsessed.

    By on

I have two rescue dogs, one of whom is prone to stomach issues. I have tried all of the vegan commercial dog foods, and am surprised to find this one is his favorite. In fact, both of my dogs are obsessed with this kibble. I was reluctant to try this one because there's a popular vegan brand that is also pea based and both of my dogs hate it. I even think it makes the stomach issues worse. But, for whatever reason, they really love this food; it causes no problems; and for those reasons alone, it's worth the exorbitant price.

  • Finally someone did it right!

    By on

This food is the best! My dogs absolutely love it, alone or mixed with veges, fruit, or even meat. Your dog doesn't have to be vegan to love this food. I like to source animal products myself to be sure of their quality if I'm going to feed them to my dogs. This product does the rest. Couldn't be better!

  • Great for Sensitive Tummies!

    By on

For those with dogs that can't keep meat down for medical reasons, this is a god-send. The moisture content is great, not too dry like many vegan dog kibbles. My Shih-Tzu has been on this (mixed with fresh cooked foods) for almost a month and has had great energy, stools, and has not complained about taste, which Shih-Tzus are known for! Overall a great product that I would repurchase and recommend!

  • Both dogs love it.

When the kibble I usually purchased was unavailable, I tried this one. Both dogs love it. One of them even attempted to serve herself from the bag. Good ingredients. The switch will be permanent.
