Bed is nice at first but do not recommend leaving it outdoors. Within 4-5 months fabric was ripping at seams & had begun to rust. Would have liked to replace cover but not an option from manufacturer so into the trash it went! Kinda a waste of money.
Perfect for warm summer days on the porch. Well made, quick shipping. Great purchase
This bed is very well made and is perfect for our dog
I'll start by saying chewie customer service made this all tolerable. They were good. The bed is not good quality though. My dog is a muscular 70lbs and ive now been through two of these. It rips along the back wall meeting the bed base. Eventually my dog was basically laying on the floor. This happened with two of these beds, so it's clearly a flaw. If you have medium to larger dogs keep looking
We recently put in a doggie door for my dog and he would go out all day and lay in the sun on the bricks. I was worried it might be too hot for him so got him this bed hoping it’d be cooler. We left the bed out for him and after a week or two he started using this every time he went out. For reference, he’s about 33 lbs and has long legs.
My dog loves this raised bed. She has another raised bed that is just flat and she MUCH prefers this one with the backrest/bolster. We love how easy it is to move around and collapse if we want to take it camping with us. It's also nice that if it gets rained on, the materials don't seem to suffer. In fact, I hose it down when watering the yard. I will say this is our second one (same bed, same brand), the last one lasted about 2 years of constant use and the fabric finally got so sun dried that it tore. In my opinion, we got our moneys worth.
I bought this bed for an outdoor trip because it specifically stated it was water-resistant and cooling. After my pup dried off, I made sure to wipe down the bed to keep it from rusting. However, the legs held the water inside them and when I flipped the bed a couple of days later to disassemble it for traveling home, rusty water came rushing out. After further inspection all of the metal bars had been holding water. Be careful purchasing this and I wouldn't recommend it for anywhere with water.
I have a Husky mix who gets hot and will move from the current spot to a cool spot. This allows air flow and is not so hard on his joints. It goes together easily. I like how the fabric keeps the parts together.
I bought a large cot for my 14 yr old 60 pound shepherd mix. She gets hot lying on her incontinence pads, thought she would love the mesh. It was easy to assemble, light weight, sturdy mesh (her toenails haven't gotten stuck or poked through). But she has not willingly chosen to lie on it. She gets on it if I put a treat there but won't settle on it. She can't stretch out on her side due to the raised sides and back. Her hips aren't the best so she doesn't seem able to spin and flop down onto it. If it had a cloth bolster around the 3 sides instead of the metal tube it might work better for her. My cat, on the other hand, loves it!
My little man Zander doesn’t like to get dirty at all and he is very hot natured. So this is absolutely perfect when we camp it keeps him off the ground and we place a fan near him and the air circulates through the woven bottom. Home run with this one.
